Force rotation of original image

Would it be possible to force rotation of the original image?
This of course would destroy the original quality, but I guess some people really want other people to download already rotated versions of their images.

    It would be possible.

I'm not sure of how we should implement this in the best way. Some people really would like to have their original files untouched, which means we would have to create an extra copy.

Maybe a checkbox in the settings saying: "Force Rotation on Originals"

The problem with settings is that it increases complexity and we still have to decide what the default behavior should be.

I definitely see you point regarding downloads.

Anyone else have any thoughts about this?

I totally understand that you have two set of users, and the users with the requirement I would consider as the most important, is solved by the solution you have today. How about still keeping the original image, but "doubling it up" by having a "thumbnail" in full size? And then during the download scenario, you could have a checkbox saying "Downloaded rotated originals"?
