Work with http://www.lifestreambackup.com/ to have your service included, and provide feature to import backup into expono again. That way you'd easily (?) have another great feature, for those worried that you might not be reliable enough.

Lifestream Backup can support us today by making use of our Media RSS feeds and the Expono API.
However, in order to meet your concerns about reliability. I can assure you that we keep lots of backups, and we have a reliable service, but maybe you are referring to reliability as in to how long we will be sticking around?
We are going to implement features (often referred to as the Expono Downloader App) to let users download all their content; images as well as meta data (geo, tags, comments, etc).
This functionality lets users take a local backup of their data.

Let's break it here and now. The download app is done! It requires our servers to be updated with the latest release due in a few days. The app will be released for Windows, Mac, and Linux for a short public beta period of one week, and then be available for everyone.
It's a simple, but useful app that gives users the ability to download all or some of their photos with a simple click.-
This is exactly what I was hoping for. Great news.

Nice! At least it starts up pretty fast on Ubuntu 9.10 considering its size. That's all I can say however, as I'm not assigned the beta tester status.
Oh, and if you made it free software, it could be used for Flickr too, and help people migrate. -

Unfortunately it won't be usable anywhere else as 90% of the code is custom written for Expono, everything from auth, requests to replies (no standards here) and it requires service side changes to work.
