PHOTOS ERROR: iPhoto uploader dysfunctional since release of iPhoto 7.1.3.

Description of problem: Using the java uploader (the iphoto uploader causes erros every time), when I select a folder of jpgs all shot on the same day by the same camera, a seemingly random assortment of those fotos have no thumbnails in the uploader. They take a while to upload, still, so I figured they's be ok after upload. Turns out they stay blank even after upload, but the site seems to treat them as fotos in the album. What's going on? How can this be remedied? Example: (removed for privacy)
