cant log into facebook although my password is correct!!!

I tried to log into my account but was met by a message saying that the email/password combination was incorrect, although I am sure it was. I clicked on the "forgot password" link (although I did NOT forget my password) in order to request for a link to reset my password. I checked my email but did not receive the password resetting link from Facebook. I requested to reset my password twice more, but failed to receive the link in my email. i also dont receive any facebook notifications anymore. This may suggest that the person
who stole/hacked my account (if this is indeed what has happened) changed the email that is associated with my account. I asked my brother, who happens to be my facebook friend,to log into his account and check whether my account still exists. At the time, it still existed and he could access my profile. When he logged in again five minutes later,he could no longer see my profile and I was no longer in his friends list. All my friends can no longer see my profile- it is as though we are no longer friends. However, I know my account still exists because if a person who is not in my friends list searches my name, they can see my account. I sent a report to the Facebook support team complaining that my account has been compromised, but I have not heard back from them except an automated message asking me to confirm that the account is mine. I also emailed info@facebook.com and have not heard anything from them. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do???? And does anybody know what exactly could be the cause of this problem?? I suspect my ex has something to do with this, but then again I could be wrong. Coincidentally, I cant even log into my hotmail account (which is not associated with my fbook account)...I keep getting a wrong password message although I know my password is correct. I am really upset.....i hope someone offers helpful advise. Many thanks

Inappropriate?Azza, I don't think there is good news. First do not pay for hacking services, they maybe the ones that stole the account, they also maybe a police sting. Very dangerous to associate with them.
Assume your facebook and hotmail are comprimised. Both Microsoft and Facebook have horrible privacy policy and do not deal with theft, so don't even bother. I've had a hotmail account stolen and fake Facebook accounts in my name. Facebook and even their lapdog TrustE will do nothing to stop the impostors.
I suggest you not even bother with Facebook and try hi5 or ning social network, there they deal with privacy issues not just claim to.
I also suggest you use Password safe for storing and creating strong passwords.

Inappropriate?I have had the same problem for TWO months and can not get a response from FB. My password was correct, but for some reason it was not working. Well, I reset it thinking I would just change it....never got the password reset e-mail from them, so now I can't use the old one and can not reset a new one. I have been trying to get this resolved for TWO MONTHS!!!! I would -e-mail them every day, went to their support site, called their corporate headquaters (who CLEARLY did not want to be bothered) got NOTHING!!! The corporate people gave me an address to use privacy@facebook.com
but I have e-mailed them at least 5 times and still have not received ANY reply. Sorry I could not be more help.....but maybe you can try the privacy e-mail since that is the one that Corp. gave me. Good luck!!!
BTW...I tried to explain to them that if I could not get into my account, that I would (and WILL) lose hudreds of dollars cause I can not log into my Zynga (Yoville) games with out my profile. I have put lots of money on my paypal account on those games and will lose it ALL! STILL no response!

Facebook passwords are case sensitive. Please check your CAPS lock key. You may also try clearing your browser's cache and cookies by following these instructions
I know for sure my password is correct and it is a very strong password so I only have a little fear that my account has been hacked. I created another account so that I could search for my real profile and couldn’t find it. I did find my name without a picture and no friends, so I’m not sure its even mine. None of my friends have me on their friends list anymore. I have been playing Mafia Wars for quite a while and my Mafia wars profile name is still on my friends Mafia Wars list but the Facebook name associated with it is Facebook User. My Mafia Wars profile is at the same stats as before, no change. I could live without the Mafia Wars but want my Facebook account back.
I followed the instructions from the login error message. This is the response I got;
Please reply to this email to verify that you are the owner of the account that you referenced in your Facebook support inquiry. This security step must be completed before Facebook can respond to your inquiry. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I replied as they asked and received this response;
We were unable to find an account associated with the email address you submitted your question from. If you have a Facebook account that is associated with a different email address, please email us from that email address and copy and paste this email into the new email, so that we may confirm your account ownership for security purposes. Please include your name and date of birth (month/day/year).
If your issue has since been resolved, no further action is needed on your part.

My name is Alex and as a daily user of Facebook, I tried to login to my account but with no success. I know that my login and password combination were correct, however, it would not let me in. After talking to a friend of mine, she informed me that from time to time Facebook will disable or delete user accounts for different reasons but that before doing so you would get a warning as to why this would happen. I do not believe after reading your policy’s that I have violated any of them. I’m not sure if in fact you have deleted or disabled my account or if it is a glitch of some sort or possibly ill intentions by someone else such as a hacker. I do know after talking with my friend that I am no longer on her friends list and when she did a friend search for me by my name she came up empty handed.
I am appealing to you for your help in reactivating my account. I have very much enjoyed Facebook and all that it has to offer. I am especially grateful for it in helping me get in contact with so many people in my life that under any other circumstance I may very well not have ever spoken to again in my lifetime. It has certainly taken some time to do so and I would be heartbroken to think that I might have to start all over again or look for other ways to get in contact with them again. The Facebook platform is amazing and certainly the only way I know of that is so easy to use for contacting people you may know worldwide.

This is exactly what happened to me. I am frustrated because I have lost all my old friends and my house and apartment in Yoville. I can still go to my old home through a friends link but I cannot access it just by logging in. I have contacted FB several times and keep creating new tickets and still nothing. -

Inappropriate?i also had the same problem as azza and roe. i was sure my e-mail and password combination was correct but i just tried to reset my password so i could log on again. but i got the exact same replies as alex did. this is the first time i ever had trouble with resetting a password.

Inappropriate?It might be for unplausible reasons that Facebook has isolated your account and is denying you access. If you have repeatedly received 'account unavailable' or 'incorrect password' notifications you my friend -- have been fucked. No conclusive e-mails have been sent to you nor responsive e-mails. Basically you're not getting access to Facebook any time soon. Try creating a new account; hopefully most of you have done that by now..

Inappropriate?The exact same thing has happened to me. I have emailed facebook a number of times and they reply with a stupid email telling me they can 'We were unable to find an account associated with the email address you submitted your question from.' which is completely wrong as my mates can access my profile. I have also tried to report it as a bug but have had no luck. I AM SO ANGRY. they also tell me not to make a new account as it could make it more difficult to fix the issue. what do i do ?????
