Can't share photo albums w/ non-members

I have tried to use Facebook's feature to share photo albums wtih friends who are not members of Facebook, but each time I receive an error message "that one or more of the addresses is invalid." Even a test to one of my email accounts, which I know is valid, yielded the same result. Others were copied from my address book to avoid typos.
