Disabled Facebook account

Hi This has happened to me too yesterday, altho i had no warning screen and certainly no emailed warnings before or after!! I have emailed a few times now asking why but as yet no replies not even robot ones! Really fed up!!

My account was disabled after lunch on 7/29/08 as well! I have received one automated response saying they would follow up, but I've received nothing! Have emailed all the recommended addresses: disabled@, info@, appeals@ etc. Is there any recourse?

one of my friends who was disabled at the same time received a response that being disabled was a mistake and she is back on facebook. The response was from this address privacy+d6wd62y@facebook.com

This happened to me on Sunday and I have received no response from Facebook.

Have you been sending emails to all the addresses you come across? I want to - I want to send emails every five minutes, but am a little scared thinking they will just delete without reading at all. A friend of mine got disabled around the same time too - but she hasn't heard anything back from them. I think she's giving up.

I have been sending e-mails to all of the addresses ever since Sunday, probably about 50 e-mails all told, but not one response. I assume no one is reading or answering. It sounds to me like they have done this to a lot of people lately, maybe something to do with the new application. I don't think they can figure out who is real and who is not real. They even deleted a British member of Parliament

I did give up. My account was disabled some time on 07/28/08. I did not receive any warnings, because frankly I did not do anything wrong. I have emailed the disabled@ and the info@ but have only received 1 automated response. Should we be sending emails to disabled@, info@ and any other email address we can find or is bombarding them going to make them mad?

I have been bombarding them. They have made so many users upset lately and they don't seem to care. They are probably getting so many complaints that they are deleting without ever reading any of them Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg has his money in his pocket and doesn't seem to care about customer service.

I have been reinstated. I used privacy+d6wd62y@facebook.com and got reinstated shortly thereafter.

I did find I lost over 100 friends on return to facebook. I cannot believe most of them left --I think their accounts were "disabled by an administrator'.

I just tried that so maybe something will happen. I will let you know.

Me too - I just sent an email. Oh, I really hope this works ... I can't believe you've lost over 100 friends - what in the world is going on at Facebook?? Do you all think it is just the "new" facebook implementation?

I sent an email too. And by the way, I have not given up on life, but I had almost given up on my FB account. Why are we on this group if "Get Satisfaction" isn't doing anything? I thought the point of this site was for us to log complaints and then for someone to fight on the behalf of the little people? What else is something that we can do to get national headline attention? What about sending an email to NY Times or something?

We all need to make our voices heard.

I am about ready to loose it, I have been disabled for over a week, emailed everyone under the sun, etc. Not only am I frustrated about not know why and not being able to fix it, but I have groups, events, apps, etc. that I was the administrator for that are just sitting out there. <sigh>

It's the Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue. I've counted six people so far in that group there were disabled around the same time as me. I don't KNOW there's a connection there? BUT, seems coincidental.

I haven't received anything from Facebook but I did just receive this from the Consumer Affairs division regarding my complaint against Facebook. I just forwarded it to Facebook. It will either help or hurt.

I forwarded the Consumer Affairs e-mail to privacy@facebook. If this doesn't work, it is the Better Business Bureau.

I keep reading some of the posts- I got re-enabled by using the following email address. Once I was enabled, I actually replied to the reply by saying thanks and got another reply-you're welcome.

for some reason, it seems to work better if you are polite, explain the situation, and email after hours. They are probably getting tons of emails during the day.

Honestly, your account should have been disabled for using a fake name. That is part of the agreement. The rest of us did nothing to violate their terms of agreement. We just woke up one day and poof-we were disabled! This feed was to help the legitimate ones out.

you misunderstand!!!! my REAL name is the same as a tv series character!!! they presumed i was a fake when i wasnt! i had my friends set up a "bring back ........." group and sent over 10 emails before they apologised!

I am going through this, too! I have NO idea what I did. I was about to make my next move in wordscraper when it took me to the sign in screen. I logged in only to get the "account disabled by an administrator." I have tried the different emails and apart from the first auto reply have received nothing. I have 7 children, and try to obey 'laws' but have no idea what I could have done. At least a warning or explanation would have been nice. I just emailed the two last email addresses you guys have posted and hope something happens. I am very sad as this is a way I keep in contact with childhood friends, and even my adult son who doesn't live near me and works an opposite shift from my life, so it helps tremendously. My children want to know what happened, too.

I ended up creating a new account.

I guess if I wind up with no other choice I'd open a new account although I'd be scared senseless--what if I rerequest all my friends and then get THAT account disabled for too many friend requests???? (Not that that was an issue before--I've had my account for years and have just over 200 friends.)

For me it's the issue of being disabled with no warning nor explanation and the frustration that leaves one with.

I am glad you have a new account and hopefully will have no further trouble with facebook.

Hi, Rebecca-welcome to this not fun 'club' but I hope you get yours back. I've sent many emails to various facebook addresses and have not had one human response, just one 'bot response in four days. When was your account disabled? Did you send any emails yet? Hoping for the best for you!

This also has happened to me August 17th 2008 for no apperent reason. I got no warnings, no nothing. I didn't spam no one, all I did was add alot of people for an application.
Facebook is doing too much and I don't like it...

Even my account was disabled about a week ago and i've emailed everyone and still no reply!! I was using facebook one day and checked it the next morning and found i was band. I've had no warn messages or anything!

I got disabled 2 days ago for adding to many friends, sending to maybe friends request, sending to many pvt msg's and to many post all 6 post I've made. So basically they said I was spamming lol what a joke and as far as I know its a bot that detects it. emailed and emailed and still nothing next thing will be to make a new account and every advertisement I see I will contact the company and tell them what face book is doing and how I will never purchase anything from a advert on facebook again (as I did once). This will be my last stand lol

Once you get on join a group that is petitioning Facebook to stop disabling accounts. My new account is under Alexandra Kowalski-Everist and you can see the group on my profile.

I got my account back after exactly one week. All I can say is keep trying.I will always be afraid of doing something inadvertantly wrong.

Facebook appears to be having issues with too many people joining (the system has become very slow). So I think they are disabling accounts with very little thought. Here is a message I received yesterday (and I can't confirm it's validity)

Sites like this owe their success to the individual user.

I think it is clear that the way to handle this situation is to leave Facebook, to inform friends about how Facebook operate, and to encourage friends who are on Facebook to leave.

My name is Pierre Berg. I am a Holocaust survivor and my memoir has just been published. My co-writer and my publisher had me sign up on facebook in May to help promote my book and so I could talk to young people about my time in Auschwitz and other camps. A few weeks ago facebook disabled my page. They accused me of having a fake account. They said I had to send in a copy of my driver's license with all vital information blacked out. With the help of my co-writer I did that, but they haven't even had the decency to inform me that they received my e-mail. I am very upset and don't know what I can do now. I had 950 friends and many, people who wanted to learn more about the Holocaust and the camps, I was writing to on a weekly basis. At the very least I would like to get back on facebook to reassure them that I'm okay.

I got this problem too, and someone of the user operations in Facebook site send me an e-mail to tell me, they reviewed my account alot and they found, that I just harassed the Facebook users with pokes and spam messages...

I tried to make them understand, it's a method between my friends and I, to inform each other of our status, if I poke my friend that's mean I still in the country and I didn't leave yet....

And for spam messages, I told them it was the same occasion for all of a circle of my friends, so I sent the same message body for all of them, but in Facebook they said, you're a spammer, and I'm not.....

They just told me, no way to reactivate your account again, and this decision is final.

I tried after that to contact every one I can contact on facebook but nothing I get yet. I tried all the contacts you all put in here but no result at all.

I need your help all, please I really need it...

I am victim of anti social facebook as well I am Autism group leader there & have had major time invested into my group & other info, I need it back! I have friends, trying email admins too, although when I emailed them when it was disabled yesterday although I have yet to recieve a reply they disabled it for no reason, & there asking friends & poking limits are rediculous considering they never post them....

I am an attorney in Chicago and am considering filing a Class Action lawsuit against facebook. My account also was disabled with no explanation.

and i have send alot of mails for facebook teams and i alawys have the massage that "We should get back to you soon"

and one massage told me "we have determined that you violated our Terms of Use by misusing our site features to harass other users. We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final"

I'm up for a class action against facebook. When you the user spend so much time investing in using their system, and making it a richer environment they should treat you with more decency when there is a dispute.

My "crime" was to make too many add requests within a 24 hour period. Granted I may be a bit over zealous adding cute girls to my friend list (check out my website it's understandable - askjdog), but with 3000 friends random people were in the minority.

I only had good comments from people on facebook. Disabling my account and NOT giving me access to my contacts, albums, videos etc. (my social grid), is honestly quite devastating for my business and online exposure. I can no longer stay in touch with old highschool friends, customers and business connections.

Roughly 120 people have petitioned facebook on my behalf asking them to reconsider.

Here is their last message:

"Unfortunately, your account has been permanently disabled for violating Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. We will not be able to reactivate it for any reason, nor will we provide further explanation of your violation or the systems we have in place. This decision is absolutely final."

..and here is the prior email exchange:

Dear Customer Support,

I did not receive the warning messages as they were sent to an outdated
email address. Once I saw the visual warning I stopped adding people, in accordance with the warning.

Cutting off access to all my information is a violation of human rights. As
the monopoly in social networking you do have a responsibility to very

I have been a loyal user, and promoter of your service.

I will request that my supporter on my website askjdog.com and other social
networks contact you in support for reactivating my account.

Dear Support,

As a Reality Television Host I stay connected with almost 3000 people through my personal facebook account. I keep in touch with friends, business associates, and acquaintances from around the world.

Not having access to my account is quite a blow, and I'm sure a mistake.

Please review my account in consideration for re-enabling it.

Yesterday I did received a "Warning" message about my account. It was sent to this email address, but I do no longer use this email, and need to update my facebook account also.

While adding new friends I did receive a warning message, and have not added anyone new since then.
