how to get facebook account back
Hi, about mid way through Thanksgiving Break I tried to log on to my facebook account and they gave me a message that my account had been disabled. I know I did not violate any of the terms of use. I don't have 5000 friends or belong to 200 groups. I have sent so many numerous emails but they say the same thing. All the message says is that your account has been disabled for poke reasons, harassment, etc. Then the name of the customer service rep. I get the same message back every time with a different customer service rep. name. I have a security clearance so my employer would have done something if I had something bad on my account. I am not a bad person just a regular college kid. I want my account back and was wondering what can be done, and if that Thor guy can help. Any legal action I can take

Hey there, it's definitely a rough experience to have your account suddenly get suspended. The experience is all very Kafkaesque to those who've gone through it.
I've talked with FB staff about this and they say they feel bad about it, but for whatever reason I haven't seen any sign of a change in their approach. What that means for you who are trying to get their accounts back is that you need to be tenacious and patient. It is sometimes resolved in a couple days, and sometimes weeks. Sometimes they're just giving you a cooling off period and sometimes you're banned unless you make enough noise. The difficulty is knowing which of these situations you're in. Consequently, you should assume the worse case and either start loudly campaigning for a reinstatement or break the Facebook addiction. You might try getting your Facebook friends to barrage their support team with testimonials of your innocence and good character.

Inappropriate?facebooks new approach is terrible, they are trying to crack down a bit too much and are spoiling the whole purpose of a social networking site, you are now limitied to how many people you can add, they don't allow you to send to many poke's, and their appeals team DIDN'T RECIEVE HUGS AS CHILDREN.
the fact is no matter how many emails you send them, when they do eventually get back to you its complete and utter bullsh!t, they dont understand the situation what so ever.
if they are going to permanently disable one's account, there should be prior notice given before they engage in this stange behaviour. Social Networking sites are always evolving, and i hope a good one comes out very soon.
They need to have a biiiiiig meeting and discuss their policies and see if they are appropriate because from my experience, as of late i am definately not liking the website like i use to when i first started using it a over year ago. Also when they introduce their new layouts, how come the mojority of people you chat to just don't like it, do they even have a qualified person who deals with HCI?????

Inappropriate?I tried to add more friends last week, apparently at a rate TOO FAST for Facebook's "code of ethics"... what this rate is remains unknown. And contrary to the wording of this email, I got NO WARNING. Also, Marissa, I DON'T understand, so don't thank me. I just got this reply earlier today after numerous emails to get my Facebook account reinstated:

Facebook aspires to be an environment where people can interact safely with their friends and people they know. Accordingly, we expect accounts to reflect mainly your "real-world contacts." We do not endorse contacting strangers through unsolicited friend requests as they may be considered annoying or abusive.
To prevent this type of behavior, Facebook has limits in place that restrict the rate at which you can use certain features on the site. Your account was disabled because Facebook determined that you were going too fast when sending friend requests, despite being warned to slow down, or because your friend requests were being rejected at a high rate.
After further review of your account, we have determined that you violated our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities by misusing our site features to harass other users. We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final.

i went thru FB's privacy policy and there rights and responsibilities and found a few different links to check out first is email them at disabled@facebook.com
give it a few days it's rather annoying to wait but they only seem to have one monkey working there

Inappropriate?My account was disabled/ deleted because my friends thought that it would be funny to change my birth year. I emailed facebook back explaining that was am indeed 18 and that I wasn't violating terms of use, however that was about a week ago and I haven't heard back. Do you think that there is a chance of getting the account back?

Inappropriate?I've been trying to get mine back for about 2 weeks now, but nothing has happend other than someone named Marissa told me that their decision was final. Good luck, but I'd be surprised if anyone EVER gets their accounts back. I had 7 houses in Yoville and 65 million in the bank and 4 thousand sisters in Sorority Life and it's all gone.
