Why is my email now invalid? Facebook won't let me log in or reset my password even!
How can I log back into my account when Facebook says my email is now invalid even though I have been able to log into my account up until last thursday, and when I request to reset my password it says my email is invalid still. So I cannot log in, nor can I request for a password reset... I've sent off several emails to the support team with nothing in return.
What can I do to fix this?

Inappropriate?Hi, I have the same problem. I can't log in, my e-mail is suddenly invalid, and no one answers... Please let me know if you receive help or how they helped you.
Thanks,
Lisa -
Inappropriate?I haven't even found a customer (dis)service contact to write to! I guess we are supposed to start over with a new listing. But why would we want to sign up on a site that won't help us when we need help!?! I think even the least busy of us has better things to do with our time than to reconstruct our pages on facebook ... or anywhere else!

Inappropriate?Hi, i am not sure what facebook service did. I complained several times and about 3 months later I was able to log into my account again. no one ever notified me...
-
Inappropriate?I am having the same problem since last thrusday They emailed me once and they never emailed me back. Did any of you guys ever get it fixed? It's soo annoying
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hey everyone,
I am not sure how or why, but they have fixed the access to my account. After about 4 month (after trying over and over again and also e-mailing them a dozen times) and no notification, I was able to access my account again. Go figure... Meanwhile I have a new account and will delete the old one. It's sad... I understand that they get many inquires every day, but if they are this successful they should hire someone to answer those e-mails... my only suggestion is to keep e-mailing them and in the worst case just open a new e-mail account and a new facebook account. Good luck. -
AGREED, THEY SHOULD HIRE MORE PEOPLE TO PROVIDE INFORMED ASSISTANCE TO THE FOLKS THEY SERVE. REE-DICK-U-LOUSE that they don't even answer their customers yet they make Mashable's top apps list! -

Inappropriate? They reset my password, and then 12 hours later my account was disabled.
Now will they ever fix that?
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?does anyone have email addresses that facebook has been responding from? i've been locked out of my account for 2 weeks now and lost access on my blackberry yesterday, so it is really annoying. yesterday i received an automated email saying "the best team able to assist me" had received my request but still nothing...
-
Inappropriate?email not valid for two days not , u lot recon itl take a long for it to be repaired . i.e should i make another acc,
-
Inappropriate?I thought I was the only one having this problem. I was on facebook at work and everything was just fine- I came home and signed on and it said "invalid password" I tried like 20x because I KNOW it's the right password but decided to try to reset, however it keeps sending me a message that says, "invalid e-mail." It's frustrating to hear that nobody else has had any resolution. It's annoying on one part to make a new facebook because my farmville and mafia wars are all connected to my old account. Hopefully I'll luck up and have the problem resolved. What e-mail address did you use to contact facebook or did you just keep filling out the request?
-
please scroll down to my recent response - i finally found a way to fix this!! -
Inappropriate?Hi, I just kept on filing requests. I wanted to pull my hair. It's a pain in your behind. I also googled facebook help several times, but it seems they do not have a direct e-mail address to complain... very sad.

Inappropriate?maybe this helps. check out this website:

Inappropriate?Because we cannot get help from the help center, as you know, I e-mailed many ostensible facebook support e-mails. This is a response I got from abuse+d25lutb@facebook.com--sadly, yet another reference to the help center even though I thoroughly explained that no help center function helps us.

All I can think of to suggest is to keep on emailing and begging and pestering. -
scroll down to my recent response - i figured out how to get a response from facebook! -
Inappropriate?I have managed to get my account back after about 3 weeks of emailing . I think the key was to be formal and nice in ur emails. i used the 'my account has been hacked section'
I’m relieved
-
Inappropriate?I have the exact same problem, its ridiculous. Im going insane. I have had my account for so long and I have EVERYTHING on that account.
Im going to kill facebook.
If you hear anything from them... tell me!

Inappropriate?I have had the same problem, I opened a new account and everything was fine and when I went to login today it said my email was invalid. I tried to re login over and over again with no success.....and of course there is no way to contact anyone. Since facebook charges many advertisers for ads I think it is very sad on their part that they cannot have someone to respond to problems or questions.......im sure they are super wealthy from the advertising but they treat people like peons and dirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sad

Inappropriate?obviously facebook employees are NOT here to help,, otherwise they wud reply to ppls emails :/ it did this to me the other day and i found a link to email them and they changed my password,, i had to update my internet browser and clear the cookies and cache off my computer :) it finally worked,, i was on it for 1 DAY and they tuk it bak off me

Inappropriate?I have had this issue with Facebook too with no resolution. It is going on 3 weeks now. I sure do miss my friends. There isn't any human interaction with Facebook administration. I think it's time for us all to find something else. Facebook is broken. Myspace is risky. Maybe Google Wave. We'll see.
I’m frustrated

check out my recent answer - i figured out how to make facebook respond! -
Inappropriate?Has anyone had this issue resolved yet? It just happened to me 2 days ago and I'm going crazy. They emailed me back and just stated that my email isn't associated with any account- it is the same email I've used for years!!!
-
check out my answer - i figured it out! -
Inappropriate?@Lesley,
Mine has been this way since November 5, 2009 this year. I have sent countless requests to Facebook. At first I was getting useless replies from an automated system but now I don't get any replies. I still get notifications and friend requests and invitations to my email. There is no way to contact Facebook system adrministration. I am beyond frustration. I can't even get satisfaction from getsatisfaction. I guess if the people that posted here get their mess straight, the blow off the rest of us without ever giving a status update. Either that or the Facebook Gestapo has already sent them away to a concentration camp. Who knows.
I’m frustrated
-
mine started on 11/5 this year too!!!! SO FRUSTRATING! i finally figured out how to make facebook respond though - check out my recent response -
Inappropriate?I had the same problem (up until about 2 minutes ago) and was going through sites like this to find a solution. One of them suggested putting in your username (the one in your url i.e: facebook.com/thisusername) and your password. It's let me log in by doing that, so hopefully it helps you all too! :)
-
Inappropriate?@MichelleA,
I tried that if I understand correctly, you put the url in but where does the password go or in what syntax? Do you separate the password via a period or backslash or what? Do you put all of that info in the URL box or what? Can you post a link to where you found this help tip? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?@Phillip Rodriguez: At the moment, I can't find the site I got the tip off but I'm looking for you. Basically, on the homepage where you would normally put your email address to log in - you put your username. And then you put your password in as you usually would; in the box provided for that. You don't have to change the URL, I was just explaining which username I was on about :]
-
Inappropriate?Okay that was it MichelleA. You have to get the username and password just right but it works. See Michelle's description above. I am back in finally. I would be cool if Facebook was as helpful as people like MichelleA. THanks.
I’m thankful
-
OK. Stupid question. Where do you find your username if you've been locked out? -
Inappropriate? It's not working for me - facebook.com/ followed by my username...still says it's not working. So frustrating.
I’m frustrated
-
i dont even have a username, so i know that this won't work for me. scroll down to my solution though, i figured out how to make facebook respond. they're violating their own privacy policy by not allowing you access to your own account -
Inappropriate?@NDEN: Just take the username and put it in where you'd put your email. You don't need the 'facebook.com/' bit :)
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for responding. I did try that combination earlier, just username alone, yet no luck. Thanks for trying to help though, I appreciate it!
-
Inappropriate?I HAVE THE SOLUTION!! You have to write to TRUSTe, which is the company that ensures that Facebook adheres to its privacy policy.
I have been locked out of my own facebook account for almost a month and i have written FB several messages to no avail. Finally i realized that since my profile is still visible on facebook without my having access to it, that facebook was violating their own privacy policy, wherein they promise that we have the ability to adjust our privacy settings. without being able to access my account, they had stripped me of my right to adjust my privacy settings! This was enough to complain to TRUSTe.
i got an email from TRUSTe last night, and they said that they agreed my privacy was being violated and they agreed to contact facebook on my behalf. this is the ONLY way so far that i have had any success with this issue. i'm still not back into my account yet, but i'm sure that TRUSTe will be able to get it done! go to http://www.facebook.com/policy.php?re... and scroll down to find out how to write a message of complaint to TRUSTe about Facebook. GOOD LUCK! AND SPREAD THE WORD!!!!
I’m excited to help other people with the same problem!!!!
-
Inappropriate?Thankyou!
Am about to give it a go now.... -
Inappropriate?yes go for it. i wrote to TRUSTe on monday afternoon and they responded to me by tuesday evening. this is what they said:
"Thank you for submitting your privacy complaint through the TRUSTe Watchdog Dispute Resolution program. The TRUSTe Compliance Team has reviewed the details of your complaint and we have determined that it is a valid privacy issue for further research under our program. We have contacted www.facebook.com on your behalf and have asked them to respond.
Because you gave permission for the site to contact you directly, please be advised that you may receive e-mail messages directly from the site regarding resolution of your Watchdog complaint.
Once we forward the complaint and any additional information to the site you are reporting, that Licensee has up to 10 business days to respond. When we receive their response, TRUSTe will analyze it to determine any additional questions or clarification needed. We will notify you if we need additional information, or when we have reached a determination, or of any interim updates we are able to provide."
it definitely sounds promising! like i said, i haven't heard back again yet since TRUSTe sent me this email, but they have 10 business days to do so, so i'm not worried. seriously, pass the word on to anyone you can. i was SO frustrated with facebook - after i got this email back from TRUSTe i finally felt like someone was standing up for me!
-
Inappropriate?Yep - all done - have stated similar compaint to you and just said I can't access my account and facebook is violating its privacy policy etc etc
At least you got a response from Truste - unlike facebook.
Fingers crossed then!
Thanks again, I feel a bit more hopeful in getting something sorted now! -
Inappropriate?Good luck!
-
Inappropriate?Well, I didn't have a username either, but I somehow managed to have them make me a new login address using the Facebook app on my Blackberry. I still couldn't get in though so I went to the new address confirmation they sent to my other email account, reported it as fraud, and then Facebook took me through a bunch of steps to confirm my account and I got back in! Then I went and made a user name right away. Now the original address I was having problems with STILL says it is invalid, but I can at least log in with my user name. I was locked out for 5 days. Facebook wouldn't help me at all. Sorry if my explanation is confusing, I don't know really how it worked, it just somehow did!
-
Lesley...I have a bberry...how did you get a new login address using the fb app??? -
Inappropriate?I don't know why it's not letting me log in using my username? All very bizarre.
