1) Is it already possible, or would it be feasible, to create a custom feed made up of individual articles selected from incoming feeds? Personally I'd use this a lot to offer custom feeds to various groups; family and friends, hobby clubs, study/research circles, various business depts, etc. This would be preferable to sharing articles, one at a time, and I'm sure promote the best of Feedly to non-users.
2) I'd really like to see some more customisation features please;
Add custom header image/photo?
Change foreground colour (much prefer reading on a darkish background)?
Change text colour?
Change colour of menu bar (to complement colour scheme)?
Change (light) background colours in Dashboard
Additionally, some other feedback;
The black menu bar and drop-down-menu... I really dislike this because it looks so bland and somehow out of place/proportion on the page. I especially don't like that it does not reproduce your feed titles as they have been entered, with caps for example?
Feedly logo/icon... Not wishing to rain on Feedly though please let us have something which does not look such an eyesore.
Fingers crossed for some of these, and thanks to all the folk at Feedly.
Not much to add to this, but I think that Google Reader has a great interface already, but I think that a feedly presentation that I'm used to would be even better on the iPhone so I can share, twitter, friendfeed, etc.
A minor tweak; could you put an option in the 'preferences' section to allow us to show both read and unread options in the 'shared' section? By default, most people will see nothing in shared, 'cos it only shows unread items. I tend to read and THEN share, so it's difficult for me to review which items I have shared.
All of a sudden this is not working properly for me. It sometimes works for the first two or three articles read, and then dies (although a refresh will then remove these from the list)?
I think a great feature would be the ability to create your own RSS feed from your "Saved for Later" or "Recommended" categories for embedding into other sites. I blog using Feedly to find my sources, and it would be great to be able to post all the articles I've read to a widget on my blog.
I'd like to see some way to recommend or highlight an article for specific friends to let them know that they in particular may be interested in an article even though I'm sharing it to the public as a whole.
For example I know that my wife, several real life friends, several virtual friends, and several people I don't really know follow what I share, either directly through feedly or indirectly through Facebook or Twitter, everything I share is pretty much for public consumption. What I'd like to be able to is highlight an article so the when my wife looks at feedly she'll see that out of the many articles I've shared the one or two articles she specifically might be interested in.
I have used long time Feedemon and changed now to Feedly. The only missing thing is to have the ablity to configure "watches" with search key words which helps you to permanently track some keywords.
I'm still on a ff 3.0.11 and I now seem to have a feedly 1.2 (from a couple of days ago when 3.5 was released), I get that is the version of feedly for 3.0, but I miss my 2.0 (or what was that I had before) with the nice layout and everything -- will wait for ubuntu to push the ff update in the repo, though.
So, there is no minibar _at all_ in the 1.2 version or I'm lost in settings again?
I cannot sort the categories order of appearance! e.g. I want to put "Local News" before "World News" in the bar but can't find a way to change the order....
In the old feedly, I used to have the option to download podcasts (and before that, you could also popout). If I listen to it within the feedly browser, I cannot navigate any other pages. is it possible to download the file from feedly (my preferred way to deal with podcasts)? Thanks
It's nice that you give us a podcast player (why not a flash player like on Google Reader, Quicktime sucks and floats over the preview pane?) for feed items with enclosures, but could you also provide a link to the enclosure itself?
I need to actually download the files for Feedly to be truly useful to me. It's a great tool otherwise though, I've recommended it to all my friends.
In Firefox I subscribed to a feed using feedly and ticked the box to make feedly the default method for subscribing to feeds. However, now whenever I try to subscribe to a feed I get an error page saying "Hmmm...You need to have feedly to access this page". Feedly is indeed still installed and active. Attempts to add feed via the 'add source' button in feedly are successful however.
I currently use Google Reader because I can just sign into it on multiple computers and my feeds will be updated by what I've already read, even on another computer. I haven't fully tested out Feedly (though it looks much nicer) but it seems that it's just a Firefox plugin? Does that mean my feed reading is limited to just this FF on this computer? And if I use computer at work I'd have to install Feedly on there and then my feeds won't be synched?
