Can't progress through Feedly Setup.
Installed xpi no problem- FF3 OSX10.5.3 - Clicked Feedly icon and the login page for gReader comes up. Login and get the Feedly Offline error:
Problem while loading feedly. Try to reload or restart the browser.
[reader][0001] failed to get initial list of unread counts because Failure: 401 -- undefined

It ended up that the firefox team had not fixed the issue in 3.0.7. But we were able to address this issue by allowing users to keep third party cookies off but creating a set of exceptions for feedly.com, google.com, twitter.com. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/65995199... for more information. Sorry it took so long. We are happy to see this issue finally resolved.

OK. We found the root cause of the problem. There seems to be a bug in firefox regarding sending cookies during HTTP requests if the "accept third party cookies is unset".
So the solution if you want to try feedly is to:
1. Go to firefox > preferences > privacy
2. Check the "Accept third party cookies"
3. Click on the feedly button on the toolbar
And everything else should work normally.
Sorry for the inconvenience. We are going dig deeper in the firefox code and see what is the best way to work around this problem.

Inappropriate? We are looking into trying to reproduce this problem. Can you please try to go to google.com logout from google, restart your browser and see if that works as a work around?
-
Inappropriate?Just tried with no success. Logout of Google, restart FF, start Feedly, same result.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?OK...I will try to bump the priority of this problem to red hot.

Inappropriate?It works now

Inappropriate?Just a quick note to everyone to let them know that this problem is on the top of our list for today. If you run into this problem, it would be helpful if you could let us know if you have a gmail account and if the id of the gmail account and google account are the same (we are still trying to find the combination which is causing this problem). Thanks for your patience.
-
Inappropriate?yes, i have gmail and google and the id's are the same.
-
Inappropriate?I downloaded the add-on again and it worked for me.
-
Inappropriate?Chad: can you please try to create a separate profile and install feedly on that profile? the result of this couple help us better isolate the root cause of the problem.
-
Inappropriate?Edwin - do you mean a profile on my Mac or on Firefox?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Chad, I meant a firefox profile.
Good news: the dev team has now in house a reproducible test case. We should be able to hunt down this problem and patch in the next 24 hours (if not sooner). Will keep you posted of our progress. -

Inappropriate?Ah that did it - such a simple solution. I do hope you'll be able to allow us to turn off 3rd party cookies at some point. Thanks so much!
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Yes. we are going to hunt this down. Feedly does not actually use third party cookies so I expect that the 3rd party preferences knob is being used for multiple things.
-
Inappropriate?Update: The firefox team has fixed this issue in 3.0.7 and 3.1. See http://blog.feedly.com/2009/03/14/thi... for more information.
