Inappropriate?Hi,
Just to clarify - you can send the mail but no contacts, right ?
Can you tell me if anything is shown in the firefox error log that could betray some clues ? -
Hi,
I am able to send emails just that I do not get a list of contacts when I start to type the name of a recipient. In the Firefox error console, the only thing that I see are warnings like these:
Warning: Expected end of value for property but found ';'. Error in parsing value for property 'top'. Declaration dropped.

Inappropriate?I am just not getting the type-ahead functionality - I have a bunch of contacts in my Google Contacts, but they don't show up for Feedly. To double-check, when I enter the name of the person I want to forward a feed to and Feedly doesn't type-ahead, I go to Gmail and attempt to compose an email to that contact - and it presents me with the contact (type-ahead style), no prob... Help?
-
Hmm. Sorry about that. are you using gmail or google apps? -
Just plain vanilla Gmail for now... looking into Google Apps however. Thanks. -
Ok. Are you able to send email using gmail if you manually type in the email? -
Yep - for instance, I just sent an Feedly email to a friend named "Mike". When I started typing "Mike" in the Feedly Gmail box, it only gave me 2 Mikes from my Google Contacts list, neither of which was the one I was looking for. Then I went to Gmail, started a new message, typed in "Mike" and got about ~20 contacts with that first name, including the one I was looking for over in Feedly. I just started using a desktop sync program that updates my Outlook contacts (master list) to Google Contacts, and it is working well; the main reason I did this was to be able to access all my contacts in Feedly (smile)... so this hurts. -
I see. How many contacts do you have in gmail? -
~2500; it seems once I use a contact in Feedly, it is available to me in Feedly. -
I will have to double check this evening when I have access to the source but the issue might be related to the fact that we only load 500 contacts. I will get back to you by tomorrow morning. -
Inappropriate? As part of the 2.0a.007 patch we pushed out this evening, we extended the 500 limit to 5000. When you have a few minutes, could you please install the latest build from www.feedly.com and let us know if the fix indeed addresses the problem you were experiencing?
-
AWESOME - that appears to do the trick... I will continue to test to see if any are missing, but I think you hit pay dirt. THANKS! -
You are welcome! -
Inappropriate?I just noticed that this issue is closed. Since I reported this issue, and I still have the problem of not having my contacts show in a type-ahead with my Google Apps domain, I wonder if the issue can be reopened.
I think the issue you ended up solving was one raised in the middle of thread regarding number of contacts being displayed.
I’m patiently waiting for a fix
-
Inappropriate?Sure. Happy to reopen it if it does not work for you. Could you do one thing please: could you please un-install your currently feedly, restart firefox and re-install the latest version from www.feedly.com and confirm that you are still not seeing contacts using feedly 2.x
-
Uninstalled, and reinstalled after restarting Firefox. Have the following version of Feedly, and still not getting the type-ahead for contacts when using the Google Apps Domain.
Feedly version: 2.x.004 (build 2842) -
Inappropriate?ok. I will ask the owner of that module to put some log traces in the next patch we will push out. Will keep you posted.
-
Inappropriate?I am still receiving the problem with 2.x.105 Is there something that I can do on my end to help resolve this issue?
-
I sent an email to the owner of this module so that he can take a look at it tonight. We will keep you posted. -
David. There must be a bug somewhere, but we are not able to replicate it. Here are a few questions that might help us:
When you click on the gmail icon, are you asked to login?
Do you see your gmail email or your google apps email address?
Does email auto-completion work?
If you manually set the email and sent it, does it get delivered? -
edwk, for me I click on the gmail icon and I am already logged in (so not asked). This might be due to gmail manager firefox plugin that i use.
Also, I am not sure how I would see either gmail email or google apps email address, all I see are a "to:" field and a "note" field. When I just sent a manual test message I noted that the email came from my google apps domain email address.
Finally, I do not have auto completion working at the moment :) -
Inappropriate?Hi, edwk.
I am not asked to log in because of the cookie stored for gmail.
I see my google apps email address.
Email Auto-completion doesn't work.
And Yes, manually entered email addresses are correctly delivered.
The bug seems to be related to polling the contact information. At least that's where the symptoms are coming from.
When using ubiquity to send quick-emails the lack of email address lookup essentially prevents the "to" from being recognized so I can't send any emails from feedly via ubiquity.
