Feedly not working on FF3 RC 3
After install in FF 3 RC3, and when I click on the Feedly toolbar button, it requests for gmail login. After login it gives me an error during load of Feedly and asks me to reload or restart. I reloaded and restarted FF but it keeps getting stuck in trying to load Feedly but never does.
This is the error I get - "[reader][0001] failed to get initial list of unread counts because Failure: 401 -- undefined"

OK. We found the root cause of the problem. There seems to be a bug in firefox regarding sending cookies during HTTP requests if the "accept third party cookies is unset".
So the solution if you want to try feedly is to:
1. Go to firefox > preferences > privacy
2. Check the "Accept third party cookies"
3. Click on the feedly button on the toolbar
And everything else should work normally.
Sorry for the inconvenience. We are going dig deeper in the firefox code and see what is the best way to work around this problem.

It's happening to me. Here are some other addons i'm using that perhaps could be affecting things: Adblock Plus, Better Gmail 2, Del.icio.us Bookmarks, & NoScript. Perhaps it will help. Also, I'm tunneling all of my traffic through an ssh session. Not sure how Feedly treats proxies... -
Inappropriate?Ok, I get the exact same error message on Firefox 3.0 final build. Disabling my extensions (1Password, Adblock Plus) didn't help. I'd really love to try feedly, so please help me out :(

Inappropriate?I'm having a similar problem. I can't even find the feedly bar or anything saying that it's their other than that it's in my plugin's folder. What gives. You have a great looking program and so many of us are having trouble using it. You get an endorsement from Leo Leporte himself and your software doesn't work on the newest browser that just launched.
I would love to try feedly out. i tried reinstalling firefox in a different installation folder and no luck. I'm about to give up and make it known that you're software is just a waste of time. Is it? Please prove me wrong.

please stop being so dramatic. There's obviously a bug that has been just recently reported, and from all appearances (6hrs ago by now), they're working on it. Although Firefox has had RCs out for a while, there still seems to be some issue to work out. While you're waiting for a bug fix, check out the link at the bottom of this page to the 'Company-Customer Pact' (http://www.ccpact.com/). deep. breaths.

No, obviously, it's NOT ready for prime time. That's what's called a Beta. Those of us who download and use a beta version have an implied responsibility to report any bugs.

well as far as beta products go this is a big disappointment.
i cant even get in to report bugs which i do all the time. not sure why it was posted on chris pirillos blog but i sure hope the feedly folks didn't approve it because this is a real goose egg. -

This seems to be a problem w/ Google Reader. I'm sure that is obvious from the error but when I try to load feedly, I'm taken to a screen that at first glance /appears/ to be a gmail login but when i examine the url it's actually a login to google reader.
I have a TON of unread feeds. I'm following something like 170 feeds and many are over 1000+. Perhaps these conditions are contributing to the error. -

When I first installed, I did get the toolbar button, but no welcome page. Instead I got the endless Google login -> Feedly splash page -> Google login issue.
Installing into a new FF profile sent me to the welcome page, but that's no long-term solution.

If you run into this problem, it would be helpful if you could let us know if you have a gmail account and if the id of the gmail account and google account are the same (we are still trying to find the combination which is causing this problem). My gmail and google/reader accounts are the same. I get stuck in a loop: click Feedly button => request for google login; enter my google login => page from feedly saying "you have signed out of your feedly account"; click the 'click here to sign back in' link => request for google login; etc. FF 3.0 on Mac OS X 10.4.

Inappropriate?Here is a *temporary* work around suggested by a couple of users: create a new firefox profile and trying installing and running feedly in that profile. if you try this, if would he helpful to know if it adresses the problem or not.

Thanks for sharing the firefox security changes to get feedly to work.
Now that I can see feedly, i'm impressed!
Just a note that the word you use, 'unset' is not correct one. I purposely disable accepting third party cookies for increased security.
i hope you guys can figure out a work around because i will not, and i suspect many others will not, operate firefox with "accepting third party cookies" enabled. -

One more thing - I also explicitily added the feedly page to be allowed in the cookie list

Inappropriate?After adding cookie exceptions to allow session cookies for feedly.com and google.com, feedly now seems to work OK for me. I'm not going to allow 3rd party cookies in general -- I refuse to do that.

thanks for giving some guidance on how to get feedly to work without opening up third party cookies. this really should be the recommended approach until a better solution is found.

I completely agree. Security is more important than aesthetics and that's what feedly is, a pretty way to view google reader. Strangely enabling cookies for feedly.com and google.com worked on my desktop but it's not working on my notebook. I keep getting the feedly error that I need to globally enable third party cookies.
