Filter topics
It would be nice if I could filter some of my topics or, at least, mark some of them as read automatically. By example, I do not want to have no more news about the iPhone, so feedly could mark them as read before they are shown.
To do the opposite, it would be also nice to have some news flagged if they contain a specific word in the title by example.
I know I could use Yahoo Pipes to filter my RSS feeds before they are read by Google Reader, but I think it would be better if this kind of module could be integrated directly into feedly.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the suggestion Yanick: sounds interesting. We will definitely look into it.

Inappropriate? At this time, I use FeedRinse, it's really basic, but it's doing the job to filter. If we can one day highlights some topics, it will be great.
Very nice job anyway, I use feedly full time!
I’m satisfied

Inappropriate?Great suggestion yanick... looking forward for its development in feedly :)
i just want to add one more point... similar to filtering, there should be a option to ignore a single article... which is not visible in feedly or in search... and should be only seen in ignored/blocked articles [as a new section similar to "save for later"].
I’m excited

Inappropriate? You have a good point slax, so we could just check if we did not miss an article by going in the "ignored/blocked" section.
And with an "Highlights" section, we could have only articles we like for sure.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?OK!
Right now, I discover that Yahoo Pipes can do almost all that I want, by example, gathering plenty Firefox sources in one feed, but when I add this new feed into Reader, it starts with only 10 topics even if I have at least 30 in my source. And with Yahoo Pipes, I can, for sure, apply filters that block or permit some kind of topics.
I hit the Refresh button, but it does not do any difference. I don't know if there is someone who has any idea about this issue.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?I think that the default unread setting for the Google Reader feed processor is 10 unread items. The way to work around that is to either uncheck the read only or wait until tomorrow to get more entries. No?

Inappropriate?Hi Edwin,
First, I understand this is not feedly problem at all, so I thank you very much for your time! To answer your question, I have a pipe set for about a week now, and it always stays at 9 unread items, and even if I unsubscribe it and subscribe again, it comes back with 9 unread items. I emptied my cache and restarted Firefox... still not fixed.
I found something that let me guess I'm not the only one with this problem :
http://groups.google.com/group/google...
And by searching for terms "Yahoo Pipes" in the Google Reader Groups, I realize I'm not the only one wishing to have filtering options in Reader :
http://groups.google.com/group/google...
I thought maybe Google did some kind of blocking because feeds are coming from Yahoo, but I also found that :
http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/art...
Anyway, I can't stop now using feedly, so I'll wait for some improvements coming from Google Reader. Or maybe you'll find a way to mark automatically some topics as read.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?A recent article from Planet Mozilla about using a bayesian filter to categorize feeds in Thunderbird. Very interesting and a great feature for any feed reader

Thanks for the pointer Alvaro -
Inappropriate?I created my account at this this site just to make/support this thread!
Both a global (for all feeds) and local (just that feed) filter would clean out all iPhone, iTunes and Facebook stuff that I don't want to read but "my" blogs keep blogging about them. (auto mark those as read shouldn't be impossible?) This is my most needed missing functionality in feedly :0
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?2 more:
Title Filter posts by title only (as an option) so that can read about Firefox add-ons even if they Mention iPhone Once At The end of the topic. In many blogs when they're talking about like music and write a list of media players and it (the post) contains a blocked word it should block it.
So in short: Block by title, not by entire post. The title says what topic the post fits in.
A whitelist that has higher priority than the blacklist, so that I can block iPhone but if it's about eg Augmented Reality it wont be blocked. Useful when you are interested in a topic even if it's connected to a blocked topic.
I’m longing for next version.
