Flickr Feeds a bit slow
I notice that when Feedly is pulling RSS feeds from Flickr with lots of photos (like http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/bur...), that it can take a LOOOONG time to get all of the images for the short preview view.

Inappropriate?Al..this is because currently feedly does not have the smarts to download first the thumbnails so it actually downloads all the pictures and resizes them. A couple of other people have complained about that. I will raise this issue out our Friday meetings and see if anyone has suggestions for doing something more efficient. Will try to give you an update next week. Thanks for the heads up.

Inappropriate?Yes, I figured it might be something like that. Since quite a few people have RSS feeds off of various tags or of their friends on Flickr, this seems like a problem that might come up. It is hard to know how common it is though.
Thanks for the response. -
Inappropriate?Update: I talked with one of our engineers about this problem and it seems that there is a way to deduce the URL of the smaller size images based on the URL of the page the image links to so we should be able to be a lot smarter about how we build the image grid. He said that he is going to take a look over the week end/on Monday. We will let you know when the feature is in. Thanks again for the heads up: this is something that is going to make a lot of users happy!

Inappropriate?I have another problem regarding flickr images.
I think now preview is working perfectly with tumbnails but still when I open a post I see part of giant photo in the attachment.
For example I had this photo is my feed this morninghttp://www.flickr.com/photos/__olga__...
And under post I see this attachment which looks like part of original image but cut in width but not cut in length so it is almost 3000px long -it's a bit annoying as I have this problem with all my flickr feeds :/

Thanks. This is a bug. Will look into it this week. Will let you know when it is fixed. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Krewetka: we address the sizing issue in patch 1.2.276. Addressing the load time issue is not trivial because there is no metadata about each image in the RSS feed so the only way to determine the size of the image is to download it. We can look at getting smarter about that in the future by may be doing something specific for Flickr.
Nice photo stream by the way. Your flickr photostream has some really great pictures too!

Great :) Time issue is not a problem for me. Sizing was bigger problem cause I couldn't see any pictures in any other size than thumbnails. -
Inappropriate?Btw, also regarding flickr, I love your picture view in "latest section" when I choose "magazine" view. It's a pity that it works only in this view and "cover" is useless when it comes to photo feeds and "digest" is not much better.
The same feed in
1)Latest
2)Digest
3)Cover
One more question - why "latest" view show only max 6 photos from this feed when there is 8 new ones as you can see on screenshot? Articles are always displayed all in this vew only some in smaller font.
