How can feedly access my Google Reader account without my ID?
After installing the feedly extension its start page included "Detected existing Google Reader database with 250 sources". How is it possible the extension can find this data without asking me for an ID or some other information. I don't like the idea that this software seems to be accessing some of my data without asking for my approval.

Inappropriate?Hi Rob,
Did chrome://feedly/content/app/firstrun.htm not appear after the install? Feedly is integrated with the Google Authentication system and we let the browser manage the authentication (in a fashion that is very similar to an OpenID handshake). The benefit is that feedly never sees or touches your google authentication credentials. To see this is action, log out from Google and click on the Feedly button. Note: the reason you might not have seen this the first time is that you were already logged in to your google reader accout and we use for authentication a uri that is an extension of the Google Reader URL.
Please let us know if you have any other questions and we will be happy to clarify. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the explanation. I didn't get that welcome page, but a warning page (chrome://feedly/content/app/warning.htm) saying:
Configuration Warning
feedly has detected that your firefox cookie privacy settings do not allow for "third party cookies". This configuration does not allow feedly to authenticate with its back-end service.
After changing browser settings I clicked the link on that warning page (http://www.feedly.com/feedly) and so missed the initial welcome page. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the heads up. I will open the bug to make sure that the welcome page is always displayed. Have a good week end.
