Feedly download application update (as Zip file) while Firefox start up...
I use low band-width connection with paid-by-quota... That mean I would like update my extensions only when I desire them.
Why isn't extension update that Firefox could manage ?

Inappropriate?Hello Olivier. Sorry for the frustration. Feedly uses both the Firefox update mechanism (for bigger release) and an internal auto-patching mechanism for bug fix and smaller feature.
I understand you concerns. I will see if we can put a special configuration knob of turning off auto-patching.
In the meantime, you can disable the extension and you should be fine. -

Inappropriate?You know how to ask things :-) question: would one 500K update every day or every week be acceptable? Last week was a little hectic because we fixed a lot of rough edges but I expect the speed of updates to reduce in the next couple of weeks to just one update per week.

Inappropriate?I think you may let Firefox's manager (and users) decide how to update Feedly application.
I disabled Firefox automatic update... But I launch extensions manager everytime I come back at office (with xDSL)

Inappropriate?I just discovered my FireFox* still search extensions updates at startup. I fixed this problem... Perhaps that's why Feedly download updates at startup. I'm sorry disturbed you :o(
(*) because I use Firefox 2 & 3 on same computer. Firefox 3 replace my Firefox 2 options.
