Is there a keep item unread option?
Is there an option to keep an item unread like in google reader? I couldn't find it anywhere and I think that it would be very handy. I know there is a "save for later" option, which is useful, but not for the same purpose.

Update: "keep unread" action has been integrated in the 1.2.179 patch we pushed out this evening. Sorry it took so long and thank you for the suggestion.

Inappropriate?Thanks. Feedly does not have an mark as unread option. We started by save for later but as you point out there are some cases where those two are not the same. I will forward your request to the engineering team.

Inappropriate?Ah, I was going to ask something similar. When zooming into an article or going via the screensaver->view article you get the detail view and if the article turns out to be interesting it'd be nice to have one of the options here to be "mark unread" or "keep unread". Often I'll use unread and starred for things I need to read, and have a live bookmark for the feed of those. While starred is more of an archived bookmark to make later retrieval easier.
Either mark unread or be able to tag the article in some fashion, guess it'd be hard to define a standard tagging 'ontology' though. i.e. everybody tags differently.

Have you tried the "save for later" action? save for later will also automatically star the article in Google Reader. We do not currently have a mark as unread option but will look into that as well.

Inappropriate?Richard. I saw you other comments. Now I understand better that you are looking for an option to mark an article as unread explicitly (and would prefer to not have to use the later option). I will discuss this with the team next week and keep you posted.

Inappropriate?I, too, would like a "Keep Unread" or "Mark as Unread" option in feedly. For me, starring and keeping an item as unread serve two entirely different purposes. I use the "Save for Later" (Starring in Google Reader) optionn for long-term bookmarking and future searching. I like marking items as unread in Google Reader when I want to pause reading the article and continue reading it later that day/,or when I want to keep an eye on the comments attached to the article's page.
This is the one major issue that prevents me from using feedly on a regular basis and for ALL of my feed reading. (I currently only use feedly to read certain feeds I know I won't need to pause on or retain to follow comments.) -
