Is there a workaround to get past cookie warning screen?
I value my privacy online, and I also do not want Firefox to get cluttered with cookies from services that I do not wish to support. For this reason, I accept no cookies except for the ones I explicitly allow in the Firefox cookie preferences (a "whitelist" approach). I'd be happy to allow the domains required for Feedly, and by temporarily allowing cookies and checking from where they are being set, I've added feeddo.com and pheedo.com, but it still will not let me through if I turn off the cookie preference in Firefox again.
Is the warning screen tied to the Firefox preference such that there is no way to get through without that preference being on? A workaround would be much appreciated.

Inappropriate?Hi Scott,
feedly itself only reads and sets cookie from s4.feeddo.com (which is where our back end services are located).
The Accept Third Party is just a temporary work around to avoid what looks like a bug in firefox 3 (we are going to dive into that in the next couple of weeks).
I understand your concern and apologize for the inconvenience.

Yeah, even putting s4.feeddo.com on the whitelist, it still checks the preference set in FF3. Please let me know if you find out it is in fact a bug in FF3. Unfortunately, I won't compromise my privacy and security to set that preference, so I'll wait it out.
Thank you again for the prompt reply! -
Understood Scott. We will let you know when this problem is addressed! -
I really look forward to trying feedly, but I won't until the requirement to accept third party cookies is gone. Tapping excited fingers here... -
Hi Edwin, do you have any more news on this? thanks Konrad -
Hi Konrad: no news unfortunately, we have been overwhelmed since the beta release and have not had the bandwidth to dive into firefox and understand what would be the best work around. May be post beta2. I am very sorry of not being able to be more helpful! -
Inappropriate?Just did a hack to kill off the cookie check. Note, this isn't supported by me and likely not by Feedly. Make sure you add in the sites mentioned here into your whitelist before using this.

Inappropriate?Update: we looked a little bit into this issue but have not been able to crack this nut yet. Sorry.
-
Inappropriate?"Crack" it by allowing an override from that page......

Inappropriate?Disconnect: Could you please explain a little more what you mean by that?

Inappropriate? If I could select "I know what I'm doing, ignore this warning" it'd at least be usable. As it is I turn on cookies, get past the warning, then turn them right off again - so far no issues (so long as the 2 domains above are in the allow list.) Haven't given it a lot of testing because of the irritation factor but it worked at a glance (and evidently people are using the modified extension without issue.)

Inappropriate?Would be nice to see some progress on this issue. Many many users are managing cookies on a per case basis. Feedly is losing an important subset of tech savvy folks.
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate?syncr. sorry for not being able to be more responsive. we have not been able to keep our head out of the water. we are currently focusing on making sure that the users who use the service are happy. Once that situation is stabilized, we will focus on this cookie issue. Thanks for your patience
