Let's make Feedly visitable from other browsers and computers
Currently, Feedly is working only with one instalation of Firefox on one computer (or more if profile copied and/or user logged in in Google Reader in more places).
I would like to see Feedly available as a usual website when I visit it from another browser/computer.
That would definitely make my day.

I would love to use feedly in Opera, which is my main browser choice.
In fact, I only use Firefox because of Feedly. I got so used to it that now
it is difficult for me to use just google reader in Opera.
When I am on the go, using a different computer, and I need to check my feeds, I use google reader, because the sync between feedly and google reader is fantastic.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Hi Jakub: This is definitely something that would be great. We will look into this as soon as we feel that we have solved the problem on Firefox.
Note: feedly already works on multiple computers if you have it installed on multiple computers (you do not need to copy profiles, etc..). It works because feedly does NOT store any information locally and delegates authentication to the browser.
Thanks for taking the time to submit suggestions. -
I don't think installing Feedly everywhere (at school, on computers that belong to my friends) is good ^^ . -
fair enough. I just wanted to point out that you do not need to replicate the profile. -
Inappropriate?I agree with Jakub. I just got Feedly 2 days ago, and already I am craving this feature. As a college student, I am on about 5 different computers/day. Being able to access "My Feedly page" from anywhere is really important to me.
-
Devi: understood. If you can add the firefox extension to all those machine, then when you login all your feedly will be there. We do not store any information locally (just have a in memory transient cache that get flushed each time you login or restart the browser). -
Installing it everywhere is quite stupid :] . They can ask "why are you installing something I won't use?". It's simpler to use feedly with Google Reader, but it's only a workaround. -
You could try preinstalling the Feedly plugin onto Portable Firefox, and carry it to all the different computers on a USB drive: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet... -
Not a solution. 1) Still not everyone is having a pendrive. 2) It's not allowed everywhere (almost nowhere!) to put your own device. -
Inappropriate?Given that we have limited resources, it is all about trade-offs. We have currently decided to focus all our energy and make the best firefox experience. There are still a lot of things we want to improve on Firefox. Once we have that nut cracked, we will look at supporting other devices and browsers. In the meantime, the two *potential* work around are
1) install firefox+feedly on an USB drive.
2) use google reader when you are on the go (feedly and google reader sync in real-time so you will have no problem there).
Sorry for not being more helpful but as mentioned this is a trade-off we had to make.

Yep. Google Reader will do until then. Thanks for the prompt replies :) -

Thank for the kind words Manuel! -
I just started using Opera 10 (beta). I'd love to see Feedly ported to Opera too. -
I'm in the exact same boat. I'm using the new Opera 10, not a fan of firefox, but am now only using firefox ever for feedly. But since navigating through the dozens of tabs i open is cumbersome in firefox i may just revert back to GReader in Opera until feedly becomes full-on web-based. -
Emilio. I understand your point and frustration. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to support more browsers at this point. Once we are really happy with the firefox experience we will revisit that decision. Have a great week. -
Certainly support for Opera 10 would be great. Been trying out Feedly in Google Chrome 4 with extensions as well. It is really good. Feedly is just about my favourite web application at the moment. -
Inappropriate? If Feedly would have a "web-visible" mode, then selecting the items to appear in that mode would add to their significance much more than uncommitted tagging.
20% of us would love to edit such Feedly "web magazines", 80% would subscribe to them wondering how us 20% have time for all this.
I’m confident
