Mark as Read Problem
I have a problem with the "Mark as Read" function. It happened twice but I can't really pinpoint the action that triggers it. I have hundreds of unread items in dozens of feeds, clicking "Mark as read" on one of this feeds, sometimes, marks ALL my feeds as read.
I'm using build 2861 and will try to provide more information as to when this happens.

Inappropriate?Hmm. Sorry about that. Will open a P0 bug so that we can track this down today. Will keep you posted.
-
Inappropriate?ivan. to help us reproduce this bug could you please confirm if this problem appeared when you tried to mark a specific feed or category as read?
-
Inappropriate?Edwin, I can't reproduce it anymore. I am beginning to think that I clicked Mark as Read when I was viewing the "Latest" category.
Please close this bug, and I will report again when I have a reproducible test case.
Sorry! -
Inappropriate?I have had a similar problem When I click on one of my sub categories, mark it as read (because I know it acumulates man articles) so I can have an easier time reading articles. I click mark all as read while in the subcategory and it marks all my other articles from the main "digest" or "latest" page, as read. Here's is my version information, and the issue did not start until upgrading 2.2
Firefox 3.5.2
Feed v2009 DevHD | version: 2.x.006 (build 2861)

OK. Thank you for the information Jared. Will look at mark category as read path tomorrow. Do you remember the name of the category by chance? (I am trying to determine if there might have been special characters in the category name) -
Inappropriate? It happened again. I don't recall the category name which I clicked but for sure there were no special chars in it. When I clicked "Mark As Read" I didn't notice anything strange. Then I went away doing something else. An hour later when I switched back to the Feedly tab AND pressed the Feedly ICON from the browser toolbar (in order to refresh everything), all articles were gone.
Hope that helps. -
Inappropriate?Hi Edwk thanks for the reply. The category I had selected is "guitar" then hit the checkmark, waited till those were marked read, then clicked on latest and noticed the other articles were removed, having been marked as read.
-
Inappropriate?I noticed this morning when It happened that it seems to be carrying over the "mark as read" function from the sub category. I went to the "guitar" subcategory, chose mark as read, then allowed the article count to go to 0. It had 1080 articles. and I was not in list view.
Then I clicked on "latest" to view all my articles, the article count was 800+, and then it began to mark everything as read. So it doesnt seem to be marking everything as read from the subcategory, but carrying over the command from the sub category. I hope that makes sense, I am only cup one of coffee :) -
I can confirm I've seen the same behavior. -
Thanks for the confirmation Ivan. We are working on it. Will give you an update tomorrow. -
Inappropriate?Update: this was indeed a bug. We fixed the problem. The patch will be included in the 2.x.008 patch we will push out tomorrow. sorry for the inconvenience.
-
Inappropriate?not much of an inconvenience, but thanks for checking on it and will let you know if it works after I get a chance to update.
