I see. There is a bug in the add source panel (works with the URL of the website but not the URL of the source). In the meantime you can work around that by going to http://www.feedly.com/home#subscription/feed/http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot[action.subscribe

Another work around would be to navigate to the the website you want to subscribe too and click on the +f icon in the URL bar.
