What are the social features in feedly? I need help with Annotations, Recommendations...

So I'm a bit confused as to what "The Wall" is all about. I know you can open an article, make annotations, you can even "recommend" things. I would suspect that there should be a way to have your friends connected to you so they can see your recommendations, annotations, and add their own annotations, but I don't see any way to add friends to my network.

I also never have any recommendations. It's always empty. What is the story with the social features in Feedly? They seem like they're kinda there but kinda not.
