What is that Firefox 3 required issue?!
Feedly just won't load on my Firefox 2 anymore. Why?!
Firefox 3 Required
To improve security, feedly now requires firefox 3. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please feel free to contact us on twitter or on get satisfaction if you have any questions.
I don't understand this decision. Most of all after that:
http://getsatisfaction.com/feedly/top...
"Thank you and sorry for this regression. We will try to do more firefox 2 testing going forward."
Please do not leave us like that. Firefox 3 is not in the Gentoo portage yet. GRMPF!

Nathalie: we create a special build for you:
http://update.feeddo.com/release/feed...
In that build, we disactivated auto-update so you should be able to use it until an official stable gentoo firefox 3 build is created. Sorry for the inconvenience: we did not know that there was no firefox 3 gentoo build available.
Cheers,
Edwin

Inappropriate?Nathalie. very sorry about that. We needed http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/... to be able to enhance isolation between the different content and services feedly mashes up. We will try tomorrow to see if there is anything we can do to help you. Desole!

I'm using FF 3.0 and I have the same issue, but I have portable version, it's normal that I'm also not able to use feedly? -
Inappropriate? No. If you have Firefox 3, it should work. Can you please look at: chrome://feedly/content/boot/about.htm and let me know which version you are running. If you are not running 1.0b4.5, could you please point your browser to http://update.feeddo.com/release/feed... and see if running the latest version addressed the issue? If not, can you please cut and page your user agent here?
-
Inappropriate? This what I got about my version :
version 1.0b4.5 (1747)
I did an uninstall, restart FF, reinstall it again using the hyperlink you provided me, and restart FF. I still can't use it.
My user agent is :
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 GoogleToolbarFF 3.0.20070525 GoogleToolbarFF 3.0.20070525 GoogleToolbarFF 3.0.20070525 GoogleToolbarFF 3.0.20070525
Thanks for the support! -
Inappropriate?Yanick: the user agent seems to say that you are running firefox 2. Is there any way you could upgrade to firefox 3?

Inappropriate?You are totally right, damn!

But as you can see in my screenshot, I run FF 3.0, but as I said, it is the portable version, I don't know if it's the reason why the user agent has not been upgraded.
Maybe I should contact the guy from portableapps.com to know if it's normal.
Thanks again for the support! -
Inappropriate?Interesting...I will ask one of our engineers to try to get an installation of the firefox portable edition so that we can determine if it has all the new API changes needs but feedly. In the meantime, you should be able to use the special build we created for Nathalie. If you hear back from portableapps, please let us know.
Thank you,
Edwin -
Inappropriate?Thanks a lot, you're great!
I am currently upgrading firefox to the latest gentoo portage release (2.0.0.16).
I'm sure I'm not the only one happy about this, thank you, thank you!
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Nice, I just installed your "special" version and everything is working.
I posted a new topic about the user agent in FF 3.0 to see if someone has something to say about that.
Thanks for your time!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? So, I just upgraded my FF to 3.0.1 and I receive now a warning that the extension is not compatible with 3.0.1 when I try to install it.
My user agent is still showing that I use FF 2.0.0.6.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Hmm. OK. For now, could you please try the build we put together for nathalie and tomorrow we will see if there is a way for use to more intelligently check. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Inappropriate?Yanick: we added some smart for feedly to actually not look at the version info but to test and see if window.postMessage is actually implemented. This fix is out as part of the 1.0b4.7 patch. You should get it automatically next time your restart you browse. Please let us know if it addresses your problem.
Best,

Inappropriate?Hi Edwin,
I found a topic on a forum that gave me the idea to take a look at my about:config module for everything look like "useragent", I found one key that I was able to reset by right clicking on it. After that, I just restarted my browser and everything was fine.
I did not understand that every time I went on the Firefox add-ons web site, it was asking me to upgrade my software to be able to install some add-ons. Once again, everything was fine after I reset the key.
I thank you so much for the time you gave me to address my issue, I really appreciate!
I’m very satisfied

Inappropriate?Thanks for the update Yanick.
