Multiplayer on older devices and operating systems
My original (edge network) iPhone bluetooth pairs just fine with my car's audio system but when I try to either host or join a network game, it always says "Connection failed ... Bluetooth not available"; can you please try out your game on an original (non 3G) iPhone and advise. Thanks. Awesome game, btw :)

Hi everyone, with the latest update of Flight Control that came out on the weekend (v1.5) we have added support for multiplayer on older devices and operating systems - you can now play against a friend if you are both on the same WiFi network :)
I’m happy more people can play multiplayer!

Inappropriate?Hi Salman, we implemented Flight Control multiplayer mode by using the peer-to-peer functionality in Apple's iPhone 3.0 OS update. Unfortunately older devices such as the original iPhone and iPod touch do not support these features.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Does that mean if you upgrade to OS3.0 the problem will be fixed? Or are you stating that this is a hardware issue?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Brian, sadly it's a hardware issue - please see this page on the Apple site for more info: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3621

Inappropriate?Multiplayer doesn't work on the original iPhone. I'm using OS 3.0, and I get an error saying that Bluetooth is unavailable when I try to host or join a game (Bluetooth is on, and I'm on the same Wi-Fi network as the other player.)
(I'm aware Apple didn't make Bluetooth peer-to-peer available to the 1st gen iPhone with OS 3.0, but it seems as though the Flight Control app wants to connect multiplayer games over Bluetooth only.)

Multiplayer doesn't work on the original iPhone (Bluetooth is on, on same Wi-Fi network).
I’m disappointed, but hopeful.

Inappropriate?I am changing this topic from a "problem" to an "idea", so that we can collect in one place all the people who would like to see multiplayer work with older devices/OS as well!
I’m interested to see how many people want this!

Inappropriate?I think flightcontrol is a good adictive game, when I see the last update with multiplayer I go crazy! This is an important update... but then when I download de new version I see... only over bluethoot for iphone 3g, 3gs and ipod touch 2gen... I think this is a mistake peer to peer mode must be available on all iphones and ipod's not only in the lasts devices because a lot of people have this app since iphone 2g and with this new feature we are excluded...

Inappropriate? Please add wifi multiplay support to Flight Control on the iPhone 2G! I want to play with my lady friend :(
We both bought the game thinking it would work...
I’m dissapointed.

Inappropriate? Will you allow us to play multiplayer over 3G or wifi?

Will multi work between 3G and gen 1 touch?.

Inappropriate? Can you play Flight Control multiplayer over a Wi-Fi network? There are lots of articles about it working over Bluetooth, but can't find anything about it working over Wi-Fi. It seems odd that it would only work over Bluetooth and not Wi-Fi, so I thought I'd check, since I must surely be missing something obvious.
