Anonymous should mean anonymous
Customer Idea/Comment: "Yes, the donee knew about my "anonymous" donation, even though I indicated that I did not want my email address published to her. Not a big deal - anonymous should just mean anonymous."

Inappropriate?Hey, Grant, I"m not sure what you mean. When you went through the donation process, did you check the box "I'm happy for the page owner to see my email...?" If not, your email address would have been hidden from the page creator, and you can type in whatever you like in the name display (i.e. anon, a friend, etc) to ensure you stay anonymous.

Inappropriate?Firstgiving anonymity seems to extend only to the display of your name in the fundraising page's list of donors. You can hide your email from the fundraiser, but apparently not from the charity. I've received paper letters of thanks at my home from charities after making "anonymous" donations to firstgiving pages.

Inappropriate? How does one make a proper anonymous doniation to a charity? Checks obviously arent anonymous, so would it require dropping off a wad of cash?

Hmm, is there a need out there waiting to be filled- a cloak between donors and charities? -
That's exactly what I was getting at! Is there a flaw within the system? Can we do something to fix this? -
I suppose you could mail a money order. -
Ooh yeah, mail a money order! I'll do that right after I call then on my rotary phone and change the ribbon on my Selectric Typewriter. And format this floppy disk. and file these cards in the library card catalog. and darn my socks.and looking up a business in the yellow pages -
Maybe those are things you wouldn't do, but some people do. They do still make rotarty phones, typewriters, floppy disks, (card catalogs not so much), needle and thread, and print the yellow pages which means somebody's using them! Same goes for money orders. Oh yeah, and cashier's checks. That's a good anonymous option too. :)
