disappearing donations
I received a donation on my site on 7/21 and sent my donor a personal thank you email after I saw it. Today that donation disappeared from my site and I have no idea why. The total on my Facebook page still shows the old total, but the my First Giving page has gone back down to the old total. What is going on? I was told that my last donation to my page was made on 7/19 by First Giving staff.

Inappropriate?Hi Carla!
I looked into this matter and it appears as though the credit card used to make the donation was declined. Firstgiving alerted the donor via a "Problem with Your Online Donation" e-mail.
The e-mail encouraged your donor to check with his/her credit card company to clear up any issue & then return to your fundraising page to re-donate.
All donations are postwd right after they are made, but are subject to authorization.
Sorry for the confusion! -
Inappropriate? Thanks, Beth! I thought you'd also be interested to know that your fundraising page is updated automatically, while the Facebook application updates less frequently, I believe daily. You should see this change reflected on your Facebook page shortly

Inappropriate?I have had this problem too and it wasn't because the card was declined. I was donating on my own page so I know for certain that there is money in the account, without question.

A donation previously listed on a fundraising page is removed when a credit card is rejected by a bank/credit card company at the authorization stage. A card can be rejected for a variety of reasons - you may have entered an incorrect expiration date or card number, for instance. No money is removed from your account and an e-mail is sent notifying you about the issue, and letting you know to go ahead and try making another donation.
