Films with same title a little wonky?
Same-titled remakes and/or same-titled movies in general seem to be a significant problem. It seems that, in cases where there are multiple films with the same name, it's quite frequent that the most recent will be the only one listed. Not ALWAYS, but it's noticeable: The King & I, The Haunting, Ocean's Eleven, The House on Haunted Hill, Nightwatch, The Fog, Little Shop of Horrors, The Mummy, Alfie, The Parent Trap, Night of the Living Dead, The Blob, Cape Fear, The Ladykillers, and I'll stop now because this is going to get really boring.
. . . yes, yes, I know how many of those are horror films. It's possible that I watch a lot of them. In fact, I can't wait until more of my favorite ones work their way on to the site. :)
It's just sort of weird, especially when an older version is more well-known or more influential (or just plain better) than a more recent one. I didn't even know there WAS an animated version of The King & I.

Inappropriate?Otto,
That's an interesting pattern about the remakes. I've seen it here and there myself, but I didn't realize that particular motif was so widespread. A lot of people have been confused about why particular movies are missing, and with good reason, since it's not communicated very well in a central place.
The movies we have generally aren't there through intentional discrimination; we started with a large set of data, did some manipulation to it, and tried to import it all; but the data comes from a lot of places and gets meshed together, and there are a lot of movies that had incomplete or incorrect data as a result.
We're trying to sort all that out now so we can correct our original database and supplement it with lots of additional films. Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience in the meantime, but thanks for bearing with us.
