Movies I haven't seen keep coming up
When I tag a movie as not seen, is it supposed to keep coming up while I'm ranking? I was under the impression that we had to go back to our list and change a movie to seen for it to be thrown back into our ranking pool.

This should now be generally fixed. You might want to check and look at the movie pages for movies you know you've marked "Haven't Seen" and see if it has "Remove from my Flickchart" as an option. If so, click it and it will be completely removed from your rankings. If you don't see that option, then you shouldn't have that movie anywhere in your list. Thanks!

Inappropriate?Asia (and anyone else with this issue),
You're right about the way it's supposed to work. Do you mind letting us know which of the movies you see this happening with? It'll be easier to nail down that way.
One thing that it could be is that you're seeing some of the duplicated movies we have around (as described in other posts here at GS) -- you might see Cloverfield once, mark it haven't seen, and see the other Cloverfield again later. We're working on cleaning that up. -
In particular, The Man Who Wasn't There keeps popping up. The upside to all this is that I'm actually more interested in watching it. -
Inappropriate?I thought I was going crazy, but I'm positive I marked Lonely Hearts (2006) as "Haven't seen it", because I made a support topic about its poster being too big.
Another possible movie might be A Bug's Life.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Asia & Andy,
Would you mind telling us your usernames? I can hunt down the problem better if I'm able to check out your list directly. Post it here if you want, or feel free to email it to us at inquiries@flickchart.com if you don't want to blast it all over the Internet.
Thanks for your help! -
Sure, it's haterstotheleft. -
I was wrong about A Bug's Life. (I forgot that the reason I keep seeing it is because I've actually seen it, and marked it as such) :p
Another related issue: I've had to chose between American Psycho and Wall-E multiple times. Is this a glitch, or is it supposed to happen?

Andy - Sorry for the delay. I see that you ranked Lonely Hearts 3 times on 06/03. There were two things going on.
First, we had a dupe of that movie in the database at the time, so the first time you ranked it it was one copy, and the other two times it was the other. On the upside, we got rid of all the dupes last week, so that shouldn't crop up again.
Second, since you did mark Lonely Hearts as Haven't Seen the second time, you shouldn't have gotten it a third time. It could be that it was a temp issue while I was monkeying around with the algorithm or something -- but the movie is definitely on your Haven't Seen list. I ran through maybe 100+ simulated matchups for your account and never once got it. Hopefully that's fixed now, but let me know if it's not. -
And finally, no, it's not a glitch when you get the same matchup multiple times -- it's just suckiness. I'd hoped that randomness alone would make that a rare event, but clearly I was wrong, which is one of the driving reasons I'm rewriting it now. -
Inappropriate? On this same issue, I won't get a movie that I've ranked as "haven't seen" show up in the same session. But if I log out, and then log back in I definitely get a few movies that pop up again and again, each day that I log in.
Specifically: The 3 latest Star Wars movies, A Christmas Story, 3:10 to Yuma, Team America: World Police, American Gangster, Das Boot, Cube, Any Given Sunday, Into the Wild, The Manchurian Candidate (ok maybe these were 2 different years), Stephen King's the Mist, Alien v Predator, Primal Fear, Pay it Forward, Barton Fink, All About My Mother, The 6th Day, The Man, Alpha Dog, Battlefield Earth,
I’m unsure

Bianca - Wow, that's a weird one. Mind giving me your username, and I'll check out what your account looks like? (If you've posted it before, I'm sorry -- guess I lost it.) -

Inappropriate?Asia, sorry I took a while to get back to you. It looks like the same thing was happening to both you and Andy. The movies that gave you problems were dupes, so the first time you marked it Haven't Seen, it was a red herring. The second time around, it was a different movie (but with all the same details -- whoops).
The Man Who Wasn't There is definitely on your Haven't Seen list, so hopefully this should be in the past for you, too. -

Inappropriate? This is still happening for me, especially for movies I've marked as "Haven't Seen" on the iPhone version of Flickchart.
