Top movie filters not working?
Why do I get movies I've never ranked to choose from when I filter by top 50? I wanted to tune up my top movies (the second movie I ever rated is hardly my 10th favorite), but after a few matchups I started to see movies I'd never ranked before. I've had to choose "haven't seen either" several times. Am I not understanding the filter correctly? I would assume it would limit choices to be among the movies already in my top 50 and only those films.

Inappropriate?Miles - Can I get your username and a couple of the movies you're talking about? I can check which ones are in your overall list and when you ranked them, if ever. A lot of the time people forget they ranked a movie (or did so accidentally), but if you're seeing that with a lot of them, that's probably not the case.

Inappropriate?Username is km04
Naturally, as soon as you ask for examples I go to do some more and so far nothing I haven't seen or ranked has come up while filtered to top 50. The one I do remember is American History X vs Wall-E. Wall-E is in my top 50, but I've never seen American History X. If I see more I'll put them here. -
Inappropriate?Well, I'm not sure what to make of this one. I just took a look at your ranking data, and I don't see American History X in any of your past matchups (including ones where you would've marked it haven't seen), nor do I see it in your current list of Haven't Seen movies.
I ran through tests on the top 50 filter for a test account after your first post (last night, I guess), and I wasn't able to get it to screw up. I tried doing Top 50 when I only had ~20 movies, just to see if there was an edge case there I was missing, but not so much.
Definitely keep an eye on it, and like you said, just let me know if it happens again. Otherwise I guess I'll have to figure it was a temporary error, maybe a side effect of me monkeying with the algorithm at the time.

Inappropriate? With American History X, I think I didn't end up hitting any buttons on that one. I refreshed the page or closed the window or something, so it makes sense that that one doesn't show up as "haven't seen." I will let you guys know if I see something else like it.
Thanks for the amazingly fast response and I wish you guys all the best with your site in the future!

Inappropriate? My username is the same as here, msaulters, and it's happening over and over. Top 250 filter, and here's Tron vs Urban Legend. Never seen Urban Legend. A couple of choices later, I get the 5th Element vs something called Bad Education... never seen that one. So, I click 'haven't seen it'... that button REALLY needs to be there and to actually make sure a film is removed from your list when you click it. It's then replaced by 'Falling Down' which I've seen, but don't remember ranking, and which shouldn't be in my top 250. Two choices later, I get Hellraiser vs X-Men. I've never seen Hellraiser. Two more choices later, it's Joyride vs WallE... Never even heard of Joyride. Next choice, still in my top 250 filter, Breaking the Waves vs Just Friends... I've never seen EITHER. I hope this is enough to help you find the problem. I can keep going.
Very next choice is Pleasantville vs Hidalgo... Hidalgo isn't on my list, haven't seen it. Then I get Analyze That vs Saw IV... I've seen neither. Next choice, Vertical Limit vs Save the Last Dance, again NEITHER. This is NOT my top 250.
I’m frustrated
