What effect does ranking a higher ranked film over a lower ranked film have?
If I have film A, ranked at #90 on my list, and film B, ranked at #100, and I choose film A, then what effect does this have on my overall list?
It seems to me that such choices make up 80% of the rankings that I am asked to make, but they seem to have no effect on my overall list. I've made over 1000 rankings, but my list still hasn't really taken shape, because too many of them are these apparently meaningless choices between films that are already ranked in the correct order (even if they are both too low or too high on the list).

Inappropriate?I'm pretty damn sure that you are right that it does have zero effect. If you want to alter your list more dramatically though there are several options hat I use frequently. The easiest is the filters. That's what they are there for. If you go to the top 250 ranking it will dramatically alter the movies at the top ogf your list. Also any of the genre and year filters will likely give you duels that you have previously not seen. Finally you can search out any movie that you think is not in the proper area and either click on the re-rank fillm button to filter the movie upwards or remove it from your flickchart and add it again to lower it. Hopefully that helps you out.
