Adobe Flash causes Flock to crash on startup in linux(fedora 11)
Installing Adobe Flash Player 10 on Linux will crash on start up after you install Adobe Flash player 10. this problem apparently affects Firefox too. It has been attributed to libfreebl3.so. Removing libfreebl3.so solves the problem.

Inappropriate?Hello Gramware,
I would like to know whether you have a suggestion or a question. It sounds like you have solved the problem. Thus, would I change this thread to be an idea?
Thanks,

Inappropriate? This thread should be changed as idea. And solution worked perfectly well for me.

Inappropriate? This file is located in your /home/user/flock directory, and *not* in /lib or /usr/lib - that was what search found on my computer first. Flock must find Fedora's default directory /lib and use that file.

I’m tired

Inappropriate?Fail. Removed libfreebl3.so and libflashplayer.so still causes Flock to crash. Remove the flash plugin, and she works like a charm. This has been going on for months.
I’m frustrated.

instead of installing flash for flock, just link the mozilla plugin directory to the flock one. This should work without deleting anything
ln /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/* /path_to_flock_directory/plugins -
Inappropriate?no puedo ver los videos en el facebook por que no puedo intalar el adobe flash player quien me puede ayudar por favor en muy urgente
I’m tengo mucha pena que no pueda ver los videos

Inappropriate? Some users have been able to resolve the flock crash issue by removing $HOME/flock/libfreebl3.so and it's companion file libfreebl3.chk. Apparently, Flock is smart enough to find the latest system versions in /usr/lib. To be sure Flock finds the right ones you can run these commands in a terminal window of your normal login:
cd $HOME/flock
rm libfreebl3.*
ln -s /usr/lib/libfreebl3.chk libfreebl3.chk
ln -s /usr/lib/libfreebl3.so libfreebl3.so
** However, for those who still get crashes after doing this, you're probably using "NSPluginWrapper". You'll probably have problems running flash movies in firefox too, although it may not crash like flock. Quit all instances of firefox and flock. Then try this as root user:
mozilla-plugin-config
This fixed the problem for me.
##?? Why?
Because my Fedora 11 system, like many others, uses "NSPluginWrapper". Each plugin needs to be wrapped before it can be used. I don't know why the Adobe Flash plugin installer doesn't try to run this during installation but it is required before running flash content or using any mozilla plugin whether it's a 32-bit or 64-bit. Read more about NSPluginWrapper here: http://freshmeat.net/projects/nsplugi...
Cheers!
