Downloader Virus Detected By NAV
I downloaded Flock 2.5 Friday from your website after the auto install deleted my favorites, and I had to reinstall the previous version, than manually install the upgrade. When Norton Antivirus scanned my computer last night it detected the Downloader virus: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/... in the installation file I downloaded. It was able to remove the file and shows I have no other infections, but I thought you should be aware of the issue.

Hi,
We've gotten a response from Symantec: this issue should now be resolved.
Please, be sure to have the latest virus definition, and restart your computer. Flock 2.5 should now be downloadable from our website without any false positive.
Thanks,
Sophie

Inappropriate?Thank you for reporting this. We have contacted Symantec for a false positive and hope to get this resolved soon.
Thanks,

Inappropriate? This really stinks, I have the same problem. Now I can't even download the setup file. Did you guys take it down?
I’m wishing it wasn't so.

Hey Vernon,
That's your antivirus blocking the file, because it thinks it's a virus. It'll appear like the file isn't there.
As Sophie mentioned, we have contacted Symantec about the issue. They usually get these things resolved within 2 days or so. At that point you'll need to download new virus definitions.

Inappropriate?I just downloaded Flock 2.5 and installed it without my NAV having any problems. NAV actually fixed their problem!

Inappropriate?I've downloaded the latest defs from NAV, restarted my computer, and I am still having the issue. The file it seems to have a problem with now is ss6jt5Bk.exe.part (previously it was uninst.exe). I am downloading this from the Flock.com site, so I can only assume that it's something in my AV acting wacky. Since this has been determined to be a false positive, I'll just turn off my auto-protect to download and install.

Inappropriate?I've been able to install without a problem. That's very strange what you're going through Mary. When was the last time you ran a full-system scan?
I’m happy because now my wife has her Flock back
