Facebook/Twitter & Gmail sidebar problems
I'm having a few problems, and thought I'd list them all in one place:
1) Facebook Sidebar: Basically it's not updating. The status list hasn't been updated since Christmas Day. Every now and again the spinning icon appears to be updating, but the friend list and status messages have not been updated in over a week. At the moment, it's also showing me there are no messages in my account, but there are 7 unread? Is there a way to force an update?
2) Love the Twitter integration, but I can't click on any links in the messages, nor can I copy and paste the link into a browser window. Also need the ability to reply to a message.
3) I've added my gmail account, but it never seems to check. Right now, I have 1 unread message in my account. But Flock shows 0 unread, and it also shows "Checked 13924 minutes ago", even though I clicked "Check Now".

We have seen these issues on occasion and they can happen for a variety of reasons.
1) Generally, closing then re-opening the people sidebar will force a refresh. Failing that, try going to the "Accounts and Services" sidebar, see your facebook account, click "forget account" and make sure you log out of facebook completely. Shutdown the browser, restart, and log back into facebook and remember the account. Hopefully this will get your people sidebar and account information all up to date.
2) We've heard from a number of people about these exact 3 features, we definitely hope to get this into a future release soon! :)
3) This might be able to be resolved in the same fashion as #1, logout of gmail, go to accounts & services, forget account, restart, re-login and hopefully everything is back to normal.
1) and 3) we are looking into it.. Hopefully that solves your problems for now, let us know if it works out/doesn't work out. Good luck! -
Inappropriate?I am experiencing issue #3.
I have tried logging out of gmail and logging back in via the button drop down and the accounts and services sidebar - neither resolve the issue. This is repeatable with the same results every time.
I have also tried the forget account approach and now my account shows 0 messages and does not update. It hasn't since I reinitialized the account. This is repeatable with the same results every time even if I restart Flock and the computer.
I have not tried uninstall/reinstall, but maybe I wont have to...
Possibly useful information:
OS: Mac OS 10.5.6
Flock Version: 2.0.3
Gmail in standard mode with snippets set to "show snippets"

Inappropriate?it's weird that only happens with some people as I have never had such problems (none of them)... also not saying they are lying or something!

I agree that the issues are weird, but I've experienced several issues with applications that only happen on certain computer models and operating systems. Do you have the exact setup that I do (e.g. OS, Flock version, gmail settings)? -
Inappropriate?I decided to forget about this and not care - I mean, after all I could still get to my gmail and its not like this was that big of a deal. At any rate - my webmail seems to be updating now. I can't tell if this is regularly or only sporadic, but it seems to work some of the time. When I click on "Check Now," nothing happens - but at least things are improving.
So what changed?
The only thing I changed is that I am now running OS 10.5.7. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. Maybe this was a 10.5.6 issue or maybe something changed with the gmail servers? Anyway -

Inappropriate?i'm running linux (ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04) and windows and i have the same problem with all os.
my impression is that this bug has something to do with archived messages or/and labeled messages and not with os stuff.
i have read this in a post similar to this one.
