Flashplayer and Ubuntu 8.10
How do I install Flashplayer 10 for 64 bit Flock ?
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 and had Flash running for Flock and Firefox on 8.04 but after a clean install of 8.10 I only have flash working with Firefox

Inappropriate? This problem has been going for some weeks now, I'm about to go back to firefox.
I was loving flock, but flash seems to be on every webpage I visit.
You can't browse without flash.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Definitely a problem here too. I've tried installing flash through the Flock browser, and it does, indeed, run through the install process, but when Flock restarts, it does not have Flash.

Inappropriate?I found an answer here http://helpforlinux.blogspot.com/2008.... I don't know if it works, cuz I'm having other problems and haven't gotten there yet. :)

Inappropriate?I have already tried that. I just tried again after removing and reinstalling Flock and it is still the same.
I no longer use Flock - it doesn't work, it is useless to me.........
The original question was posted 3 months ago - why are there no Flock developers in here with a proper working solution? I can only assume they do not care.......! -
Inappropriate?did you copy it from the firefox plugin folder to the flock plugin folder in your home directory? I just did it and it worked for me. From what I have read it is not a Flock problem, but how the plugins are handled. Apparently plugins are automatically put into the firefox folder. You can also download the plugin directly from here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.... More info: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Linux.... I have read that you can also try flashplugin-nonfree. More info: http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/w....

@Conrad: Where are these plugin directories located? Could you be a bit more descriptive in ayour possible solution? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Ok, I was able to fix this.
The version of Flock that I downloaded actually just unzips in to a folder and is run from there with the flock-browser command. Within this archive, there is a folder called "plugins" ... All you need to do is copy flashplugin-alternative.so from /usr/lib/firefox/plugins in to the plugins folder within your Flock program directory (then restart Flock).
Hope this helps.
I’m happy
