Flock 2.5 'LITE' Advice + LAST.FM Radio Stations: "Flock doesn't know how to open this address because the program Last.Fm isn't associated with any services."

1.) Is there a way to disable *certain features OF FLOCK 2.5, while not all of them.
2.) "Flock doesn't know how to open this address because the program Last.Fm isn't associated with any services."

I've just been through a long nightmare of installing and reinstalling Flock 2.5...three times for various reasons, and with the help of the wonderful support team at GS. And now that I completely wiped out everything from my old profile, by doing a search and deleting everything that said flock, things seem to be working much better. There are, of course a couple of problems...

Even as I type this there are lags between keying letters and the page, etc...and I am not doing anything overly demanding, SO...

As much as i like some of the social features, it does seem to slow my computer down. I have WINDOWS XP with SP2: running Search and Destroy and AVG (both free versions) which I've just run through their paces, so I would imagine that my computer, right this second is going to be responding at its peak more now than it ever will (it's a little older Dell with not nearly the memory or capacities of newer computers, but I like it).

1.)
Is there a way to disable *certain features OF FLOCK 2.5, while not all of them. (I'm more familiar with Flock now than a lot of techies, but by no means am I a computer expert--just from experience doing the reinstall. So I'm not afraid to go into the guts, and would appreciate some advice on customizing Flock for my situation. I use it a lot--I have a video blog and use the Mozilla/Firefox AP, download helper to download videos to flv.)

*For example, I could probably live without being connected to everyone online at Facebook AND Twitter and whatever else takes up the majority of New Flock's Bells and Whistles, and with it unfortunately, my computer's responsiveness, across sessions. That one just seems like it would cause the most problem in this regard. And please don't just send me the Tuneup Link (as helpful and indispensable as this link is, and one that should be directly linked on Flock's Homepage, I know it like the back of my hand...I'm talking about something a little more creative for the slower computers out there)--Sort of like a 'Flock Lite,' like they're doing with MySpace these days because of the same problem.

I RUN: Windows XP, SP2 with Security Devices (Search and Destroy and AVG)

ALSO, IF YOU COULD GIVE ME A GOOD GUIDE TO RESET SOME OF THE MORE LIBERAL DEFAULT SETTINGS TO CUT DOWN ON THE SAME PROBLEM [LIKE CACHE SETTINGS, ETC.], TO HELP WITH VIRTUAL MEMORY. I already got my first Windows Popup for low virtual memory, which I used to get pretty often whenever I was doing two or more involved tasks, like video download and Realplayer, for example...And I tell you, my computer right now, is at fighting weight.
I HAD MY OLD VERSION SET, AND NOW THAT IT'S BEEN WIPED, I FORGOT WHAT I SET AND HOW?

NEW PROBLEM!

LAST.FM

I can play certain music, but NONE OF the Last.FM RADIO STATIONS WILL PLAY.

A WINDOW SAYING,

"Flock doesn't know how to open this address because the program Last.fm isn't associated with any services"

I hope someone who may be a Last.Fm subscriber will be able to respond to this, because I enjoy Last.Fm--and I've spent a lot of time checking their recommendations for troubleshooting to no avail: things like, Adobe's latest Flash Player, which is 10.2, which I have, and checking your JavaScript settings, which I'll admit, I'm not too sure about. So a little patient instruction or advice for this would be great.

So thanks for everyone's help: both the employees and the voluteers and community, who responded to some of the various five or six posts that this process entailed.

And I hope that these last couple of issues will be easier to remedy than the last one.

Sincerely,

m.

Wow, dudes, that's the weirdest thing ever...I just went to title this post, and I highlighted Last.Fm to copy and paste, and it took me to their website. Please tell me that the nightmare is not starting over.
