Flock is probably vulnerable to issues also affecting FF3. Where are the security updates?
Is Flock still maintained regarding security updates? Firefox has been updated several times to patch critical security issues. Taking into account that Flock is based on Firefox it's safe to assume that Flock users are vulnerable to the last security issues that affected Firefox. Any information on this? A road map? Which FF3 vulnerabilities are not fixed in Flock?

Hey Tobias,
A very good question!
We do strive to keep Flock updated with the latest security patches from the Mozilla team. This usually happens within two weeks or so of the patch being released. However, as we're closing up work on the next major Flock release, we have not been able to push out a minor security update. All of the Mozilla security patches will be included in this major release, and we expect it to be out within a month or so. After that release, we'll go back to our "within 2 weeks" timeframe for security patches.
Thanks for the concern!

Inappropriate?Hi Tobias,
I have installed the extension: "Boss Key" in order to get Flock minimized to the System Tray. When I right click on the Flock icon in the System Tray, I get an option to close "Firefox 3.0.5". I regard this as a sign, that Flock in not properly updated! ( I think the latest Firefox' version is 3.0.8 nowadays, so I think it is really upon time to update the security of Flock!

Win XP Home SP2, ( IE7 ), Flock 2.0.3, ZoneAlarm Pro 7.0.483, NOD32 AV 4.0.424, Zemana Anti-Logger 1.7.2.986
I’m a bit worried!

Inappropriate? You can view a list of patched firefox security issues here:
http://www.mozilla.org/security/known...
Since Flock 2.0.3 is running Firefox 3.0.5, it has 8 critical known security flaws and 5 high known security flaws, as Mozilla has ranked them.
It's probably unlikely that anyone would directly target Flock users with these security issues, but they would try and target out-of-date Firefox users.
Hurry up with that major release!
(lovingly)
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? Why is Flock not directly working on the latest Firefox platform? The latest version now of Firefox is v.3.0.10. Flock is far behind Firefox! I suggest, that Flock immediately updates at least the safety/security issues to the latest Firefox' version!
In my mind Flock should always automatically adopt the safety/security level of the latest version of Firefox!
