How Do I Export or save all my fav plus data to restore later
Hi
I have been using Flock for around 6 months now and absolutely love it - But ...I nearly had a pc crash but managed to save from having a full pc meltdown.
Now -
Question
Hoe do I have a backup of all my settings in Flock - favourites and everything else so that I can restore everything prior to a crash if anything happens again

Your profile folder lives in a different spot than your Flock application files. Your profile contains all your locally saved favorites, any passwords you saved, and any other settings you made. You can reinstall Flock and it will go and read your existing profile, so it is basically backed up by default.
To be extra safe, you can go and copy your profile to a new folder (with a different name) so you always have a copy. Not a bad idea.
Your profile is in a folder called Flock:
On mac, [your user name]\library\application support\
On Win XP, c:\documents and settings\[your user name]\application data\
On Vista, C:\Users\[your login profile name]\AppData\Roaming\

Inappropriate?Hi Clayton
Again thanks for the answer.
I looked in the Documents and settings and ( User) but there is no folder called Flock , so i searched the C Drive and found it in the Program Files.
I am presumming that this is the one
Thanks again

Inappropriate? No that one is the Program Folder.
The "application data" in c:\documents and settings\[your user name] is usually hidden. In your Windows explorer, go to Tools/Folder Options and "Show hidden files and folders" -
Inappropriate?Thanks Bruno.
You don't want to back up the files in Program Files -- that's the actual software. The one in Documents and Settings is the one you want, and as Bruno says this area is hidden by default in Windows (as silly as that is).
Let us know if this doesn't make sense. -
Inappropriate?Hi Bruno and Clayton
Silly me - That was my fault - My PC Guy recently did some work and he told me to keep the explorer that way ( hidden files) and I'd forgotten about it.
Now that you mention it I did what you instructed me and found the folder -
It has Browser folder inside and then profiles plus a few other files .
So is it the actual Folder ( Flock that I am to copy over ) when I do a back up.
Many thanks for your time guys - Its much appreciated

Yes, when you do a backup, you need to copy the Flock folder from the Application Data folder under Windows XP. This folder contains everything the browser needs to be able to access your settings/extensions/etc. -
Inappropriate?what about linux?
I just copied .flock/browser/profiles.ini from another computer and it doesn't work. It says I have a copy of flock running, but I don't.
I’m confused
-
solved, you have to copy profiles.ini plus a whole directory with a weird name.
