LOST!! Have You Seen My Missing Feed Data????
My Feed sidebar is empty.
After restarting Flock, all my feed entries are missing.
I have found some suggestions within the community section.
So far, I backed up my Profile, within C:\Documents and Settings\USERS NAME\Application Data\Flock\Browser\Profiles\RANDOM * DIGIT CODE.default.
Closed Flock.
Renamed flock-data.sqlite to flock-data-backup.sqlite
Restart Flock, new flock-data.sqlite is generated.
Rename new flock-data.sqlite to flock-data-new.sqlite
Rename old flock-data-backup.sqlite to flock-data.sqlite
Restart Flock and still the same problem.
I also saw a reference to doing the same process but with feedcontent.sqlite.
I followed same steps as above but on this file and still no change.
My original feedcontent.sqlite is 3,526kB
My original flock-data.sqlite is 481kB
Any further suggestions please?

Hi Simon,
The way to check if the sqlite file is corrupted or not is to try to compact the database.
To fix it up, you can try to dump the database to a file and reimport it.
Here is the command:
sqlite3 flock-data.sqlite .dump > output.sql
sqlite3 flock-data.sqlite < output.sql

Inappropriate?Hi Simon,
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. It seems you've covered most of the bases already, so we'll skip forward to the big guns.
If you have any extensions installed, please disable them all and then try to access your Feeds. If the problem disappears, enable them one by one to isolate which one is causing the problem.
If that does not work, please try this:
1. Back up your Favourites.
2. Back up your Feeds.
3. Find your Profile.
4. Rename your profile to Flock_backup
5. Run Flock.
Hope this helps!

Inappropriate?Hi Cam, thanks for your reply.
Another thing I tried was that I deleted (still have the original folder, pre-fiddling around) ALL the contents of C:\Documents and Settings\USERS NAME\Application Data\Flock\Browser\Profiles\RANDOM * DIGIT CODE.default.
I then restart Flock and it repopulate the folder with fresh files.
Restart Flock and I have the default Feeds working.
Shut down Flock
Copy my original feedcontent.sqlite over the top of the newly generated feedcontent.sqlite
Restart Flock, Feeds no longer working.
This would appear that something must be corrupt with the original feedcontent.splite file. -
Inappropriate?Apologies, my mistake in the last post.
Copying the original feedcontent.sqlite over the new version has no effect. The default feeds are still displayed.
I shall now go and try copying over the flock-data.sqlite
One other thing I tried.
I used my other computer and ran Export Feeds and created a flock-export.opml.
Then I tried to import via the Import Feeds, I located the file but when I click on the Import Feed button, nothing happens, it wont load it.
However, if I do not specify a file and then click on the button I get an error telling me nothing has been selected.
Perhaps this is a separate issue.
I’m coping
-
Inappropriate?OK, just copied over the original flock-data.sqlite file and overwritten the new one.
Hey presto .. . . All feeds are lost, no default feeds.
Still unable to Import the opml file
I’m a little saddened
-
Inappropriate?Cam,
I think the root fault lies with the flock-data.sqlite.
I uninstalled Flock and then reinstalled and left my profile folder empty so that it could repopulate.
Flock started cleanly and I was then able to import my opml file. This is good as I know have some feeds, but of course it is a different feed list between home and work.
Close Flock.
Backup the new flock-data.sqlite
Paste in the original flock-data.sqlite
Restart Flock and No Feeds!!
Can this be fixed in any way, of is it possible to manually pull out data from it to put in the new feed list as my old list has work feeds that are needed for business?
I’m Feeling more relaxed.

Inappropriate?Simon,
No matter how many times you paste in the original sqlite file, it will continue to break Flock. It will not un-corrupt itself, unfortunately, and there's nothing we can do to fix it. Removing/deleting the original .sqlite file will restore your ability to use the Feeds sidebar, but it will not restore those favourites, unfortunately.
Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience!

Inappropriate?Hi there!
Please let us review this problem. I'm stuck in somehow the same situation. To get a brief view of my story:
My system (MacBook 2.33 GHz, OS X 10.5.8, Flock 2.5.2) went down because of powerlack. Flock was running at that time. After rebooting system n flock, no feeds, no configured webmail, nothing shown in people sidebar.
I figured out where the information is stored with the help of this n other posts. I thought aswell that the two sqlite files (flock-data.sqlite 19.6 MB / feedcontent.sqlite 7.8 MB in my case) must be corrupt BUT it isn't the case!
As those two file are sql-db's in itself I tried to access the contents through an sqlite-client (terminal type 'sqlite3' / 'man sqlite3' for infos) and I see the tables of each and all the records of the db. So the file itself is not corrupt in my case.
I'm assuming that flock a the very last time before being shut down accidentaly has written some crappy records in the file... So cleaning the file would end in working feeds n so on...
@CAM: For instance is there anybody at Flock to have a look at those sql-files n the entries to see what might have happend? I could send you some of the records so you could have a look at it to say if the internal format is readable for flock...
In the 'resource' table there are hundreds of entries like this i.e.:
248226|http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-synt...
248228|http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-synt...

...
272930|rdf:#$iyTBt2
272931|rdf:#$jyTBt2 (end of table)
The ID-key is pretty high. There are some familiar entries with google searches and facebook references. So they look ok...
In table 'triple' the two last records look like this:

Inappropriate?Hi BRUNO
Very very nice! As easy as that! Works all fine now again!
As information, I did the dump for flock-data.sqlite *and* feedcontent.sqlite!
Thank you very much for your help!

I’m happy
