Hi Alex,

Unfortunately, there is no way to manually change the refresh rate for the feed sidebar. You can, however, force a refresh by going to Feed Options (top left of the sidebar) and selecting "Refresh All". You can also force a people sidebar refresh by opening and closing the sidebar.
