Some e-mails print illegible characters from Earthlink e-mail in Flock 2.5.2
My customer is using Flock 2.5.2. When he's in his Earthlink webmail page, some e-mails print junk characters on the page. They usually show up right in the print preview page, but they just don't print right. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why this happens to some e-mails and not others. He says that this started happening after the last update he installed.

Does the same issue occurs if your customer prints the same email from a browser other than Flock (for example, Firefox)?
Did he/she also notice if those characters were non-US characters or special symbols?
Thanks,

Inappropriate? No, this does not happen in IE or Firefox, just in Flock. The characters were not special characters, just regular text. The weirdest part is that this is only happening in certain e-mails and those e-mails do it every time. If he copies the e-mail text to Notepad or Word then it prints fine.

Inappropriate?Hi,
Does your client have any extensions installed on his/her Flock browser? If so, could he/she please disable them and see if that resolves the issue.
Also, please go to Tools|Options in Windows, Flock|Preferences in Mac, then Content panel. Under the "Fonts & Colors" section, is the default font set to "Times New Roman"?
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Sophie,
Thanks for the input. I'm going to check with my customer on this and get back to you here in the forum once I've done so.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Sophie,
We tried your suggestions. It still does not work. As I said in my original post, if he goes to print preview and prints from there, then the output is fine. There are no extensions installed and his default font was Times New Roman. I even switched it to Georgia and then switched it back to be sure.
Please help!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hello,
I know this is a long shot, but is there another printer that your client could try to print to?
The fact that the print preview is working fine, and that the issue only happens to certain emails make me think that :
a) it's more of an issue with the current printer
or
b) it's an issue with Earthlink
I looked online and found this link:

If your client has Firefox 2.x, it might explain why it's working with it and not Flock (which is based on Firefox 3.0.x).
Thanks,
Sophie
