status update myspace
The status updates on Myspace always stay at the top of the sidebar feed, and don't move down! My Facebook and Twitter updates move down when I get a newer one from someone else, but the same Myspace update can stay there all day!!! It also says "status updated moments ago", when in actual fact it could have been updated hours ago! I have only found this problem with Myspace. I know Myspace is new on Flock so there is bound to be a few bugs, and I find this is one annoying bug that needs to be fixed!

Inappropriate?The problem still exists in 2.5 today ie 2009-05-20
It's so annoying that i just keep flock signed out of MySpace and use pidgin instead for email message updates.
I like facebook, twitter, bebo, and YouTube all in one combined list.
btw: pleased you have Bebo integration now.
Hope you can help. :)
I’m frustrated

vaserlan,
1) The issue of status showing the wrong dates has been resolved in Flock 2.5 . Have you tried to completely forget your MySpace account from the Accounts and Services sidebar, log out from MySpace's site, restart Flock, and log back in? Could you ask a friend of yours to update his/her status, and verify that you're seeing in your sidebar?
Also, please type "about:webdetective" in the URL bar. You should see this line:
myspace: $Id: myspace.xml 22451 2009-04-30 23:10:36Z campbell $
2) About MySpace account not remained logged in after a browser restart - after some investigation, it turned out to be a bug on MySpace's side, so we can't do much about it:
https://bugzilla.flock.com/show_bug.c...
Thanks,
Sophie -
re webdetective, I got the same line for myspace and did the first thing too but it still has the same fault. :( -
Inappropriate?Vaserlan,
This is very strange. We're not able to see this issue on our side, and we have not heard of any other reports of the same issue.
A last solution would be to backup all your bookmarks and feeds, rename your Flock profile (it'll be your backup), and restart Flock with a fresh clean profile.
Let us know how it goes,
Sophie -
What's my 'Flock profile' ? -
Inappropriate?Vaserlan,
Instructions on where to find your Flock profile are here:

Thanks,

@Alexaner Thai,
Which version of Flock are you currently running?
Have you made sure that your friends aren't sorted alphabetically?
Could you please try to forget your MySpace account from the Accounts and Services sidebar, delete any MySpace cookies, restart the browser, and log back in?
Last, if you type "about:webdetective" (without the quotes) in the URL bar, do you see a line such as:
myspace: $Id: myspace.xml 22451 2009-04-30 23:10:36Z campbell $
Thanks,
Sophie -
Inappropriate?When I typed about:webdetective I got this line here
myspace: $Id: myspace.xml 22451 2009-04-30 23:10:36Z campbell $
My version is 2.5
I will try the forget myspace and delete myspace cookies thing now, I'll let you know what if the problem still occurs.

@Alexander Thai,
That's strange. Are you logged in to any other People services at the same time? If so, are you seeing the issue on both the "All" tab in the People sidebar, and also on the "MySpace" tab?
Could you please rename or backup your profile, start with a clean profile, and see if that resolves the issue?
Thanks,
Sophie -
Inappropriate?I also have facebook and youtube on the peoples tab. Um the issue involves the myspace one only(issue appears in the all tab as well) , facebook is accurate. I tried starting a clean profile but that didn't do anything.

@vaserlan,
Which version of Flock are you currently running? Are you using a MySpace account in English or in a different language?
Have you tried to:
- forget your MySpace account from the Accounts and Services
- clear any MySpace cookies
- close the browser
- optional steps: backup your profile and/or export your favorites and RSS feeds (http://flock.com/faq)
- install Flock 2.5 from our website
- run the browser
Would that work for you?
Thanks,
Sophie -
Inappropriate?I tried all that and it would seem that yes, some friends' updates come through, but there is a group of friends at the top (not sorted alphabetically) whose updates have remained there for months.

@sisterphonetica,
Just to clarify, clearing the MySpace cookies, forgetting the MySpace account, and restarting Flock 2.5 did not resolve the issue for you, did it?
We're not able to see this issue in our labs, and we'd need more information in order to troubleshoot this. Could you please tell us:
- if you're using a MySpace account in English or non-English language?
- what status information is displayed in your friends cards that don't seem to be updated? Does it say "status cleared [some very old date such as the year 1999 or 2000]"? Or does it say something else?
- are you positive that those friends did have a more recent status update?
Many thanks in advance,
Sophie -
Inappropriate?@Sophie
Correct!
I'm using MySpace in English.
The status messages say "updated moments ago" when on my main myspace page this is clearly not the case. The person at the top of my list last updated status on 30th June.
I don't have them sorted in alphabetical order either.
Most frustrating, but thank you for even trying to figure it out! -
@sisterphonetica,
That is very strange and I'm not sure why it's not working for you... So are you seeing the same status in the friend cards as in this screenshot: https://bugzilla.flock.com/attachment... ?
I'd suggest to:
1) Back up all your bookmarks and RSS feeds (http://flock.com/faq)
2) Back up your profile by renaming the Flock folder (http://flock.com/faq)
3) Restart Flock 2.5 (make sure it's Flock 2.5)
4) Log back in to MySpace
Please let us know if that resolves the issue,
Sophie -
Inappropriate?Just wanted to drop bye, I recently just reformatted my computer (different reasons, NOT THIS LOL) , and now the problems gone, buuuut I don't think that helps much, very very vague solution to this problem.

Have you got all the same extensions as u used before? In my case, i use a lot of Firefox extensions in flock that might be causing this problem with myspace.
It would be good if the flock site could list which firefox extensions cause problems or which ones are ok to install. -
