Twitter login detection fix now available
Hey Flockstars,
Some of you may have noticed an issue in which Flock does not detect your login to Twitter and thus doesn't pull those you follow on Twitter into the People Sidebar. This is because of some changes that Twitter made in the last week.
A fix has been created for this bug and has been pushed live. This is a Web Detective fix, which means that you won't need to download an update. Instead this should come invisibly to you in the next 24 hours.
If you need it sooner, here are the steps to force a Web Detective update:
1. Go to Tools>Options (Windows) or Flock>Preferences (Mac)
2. Go to the Advanced section
3. Go to the "Update" tab
4. Click "Force Service Updates"
5. Shut down Flock and restart your computer
If the issue persists, please let us know.
Please Note: This fix is only for Flock 2.0 and above. A fix will come to 1.x in time, but we highly recommend that you upgrade to Flock 2.0 for improved functionality and speediness of bug fix delivery.
Thanks for your feedback about the issue, it's crucial in helping us hunt down and crush these bugs quickly!

-
Inappropriate?Hey jack,
Did you follow the steps in my post above, including restarting Flock and your computer?
If so, and it's still not working, can you answer these questions?
1. What version of Flock are you running?
2. What Operating System are you running?
Thanks,
Evan Hamilton

Inappropriate?Hey Evan,
The Twitter integration seems to be repeatedly telling me about direct messages that I've already acknowledged every time new tweets come in from the people I follow. I'm glad the Twitter integration at least works again, though.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I'm getting a weird error, Flock seems to be detecting that I'm logged in to Twitter but it keeps putting people that aren't my contacts in the sidebar. Once it reloads, my contacts come back.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate? You folks still having this issue? Did you make sure to fully restart your computer?

It's not just Twitter I'm having problems with. It's the people's sidebar. It won't let me log into anything. Not even the tutorial. -
Inappropriate?I'm still getting people that aren't in my friends list showing up in my twitter sidebar. Once I get it to reload, my friends come back.

Inappropriate?Hey Bridgete,
That's a bug in the Twitter API. Supposedly they're close to a fix.
Jack, are you still having this issue?

Inappropriate? Why do you need to restart your system when restarting the browser is sufficient enough
-
Restarting your browser is not always sufficient. -
Inappropriate?Jordyn
when i search twitter, it tells me that a 50x server error was received attempting to serve my request, indicating that either the server is currently unable to handle the request or the request timed out waiting for a response. The error may have been due to a temporary issue therefore you could try to access the web address again. What does this mean? How can i get onto my twitter account page? -
