Inappropriate?bglover4,
When you try to uninstall Flock through Add / Remove Programs, do you get any error messages?
--Chris -
No I don't..it doesn't do anything -
Inappropriate?Hi bglover4,
Hmm, that should normally work. Did you have Flock running when you tried to uninstall it, by any chance? If so, make sure to quit Flock first and then try again. Let me know if that's not it...
What version of Flock are you running?
--Chris -
Version 2.0 and no I did not have it running when I tried to uninstall it. I have tried almost everyday to uninstall it since the first time I wrote you about the problem and still nothing. -

Inappropriate? Can you try reinstalling Flock? This will make uninstall work again.
@ChrisCampbell: When I renamed the "uninstall" folder in Flock's install directory, the Uninstall option failed silently. Reinstalling recreates this directory. -
Good suggestion... -
Inappropriate? Please tell me how to turn off Flock and in English, please explain in greater detail how to UNINSTALL this stupid program!!!!!

Inappropriate?Beth,
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. Here's how to uninstall Flock.
On Windows:
Start / All Programs / Flock / Uninstall Flock
On Mac:
In the Finder go to Applications, then locate Flock and drag it to the trash.
If you have a mind to, please feel free to email me (chris.c at flock dot com) and let me know what you hated about Flock so much. We're always eager for constructive feedback.
Thanks!

Inappropriate? It's a wonderful browser. It's my experience with Flock. Now for some reasons i've to uninstall it n install back to older version on linux. How i can do that on a linux system?
-
On Linux, you need to remove the Flock binaries. I don't know where this is located -- /usr/local/Flock?
If Flock was crashing on you, and that is your motivation for going back to a previous version, you should know that your problem might be due to browser extensions, and the problem might be due to something in your profile. This is located in ~/.flock/browser/. You might need to remove your profile folder, holding your extensions and site logins and settings, in order for Flock to work even with the older version. -

Inappropriate? It didn't never crash and worked almost perfectly on all of openSUSE versions over than 10.3. I've used that all the time and there was not any problem with that. The only problem, which is not a big one is the people sidebar, where it shows me my logging status in flickr. It just all the time prompts to log in again and actually i'm logged in flickr. Have to mention that i use it as a flickr browser and i didn't add any extension to original browser.

If Flickr used to work for you, but just broke recently (within the last week or so), there is a fix. See Justin's response here: http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi...
There problems happen occasionally due to the way Flock detects services like Flickr, Facebook, etc. If a supported service changes something about their pages this will sometimes break Flock's ability to detect that you are logged in. Going back to a previous version probably will not fix these problems. The folks at Flock need to identify and fix the issue. Then, go to Help > Check for Updates and restart the browser.
This might be the case for you. If not, you can surely try to previous version. -
Inappropriate?I've been trying to get Flock of my computer for 9 mos. It's too much browser, with too many personalized settings. Firefox is so much simpler. I like the media features, but I don't work in media, so it's not worth the visual confusion of dealing with the Flock interface. I do think it's a fantastic products, I'm just don't need that much control or power.
That said, when I go to drag my the App to the trash to uninstall. It's says I don't have those priveledges. Since I'm the only one who uses my computer, who the hell would. I want the app gone. Sorry. And I'm tired of messing around with the right combination of actions for all of these high end programs. -
Inappropriate?Hi hillhouse.ventures,
When you try to drag the app into the trash, please make sure that Flock itself is not actively running.
Also, please confirm that you are in an Administrator account. To do this, go Apple >> System Preferences >> Accounts, and confirm that you are an admin. If you are not, you will need to gain admin access to remove Flock.
Let me know how this works,
~Cam
