Inappropriate?Hello mauryb101,
Sorry to hear this problem. Will it work after Flock restarted? Do you by chance install any extensions? If you do, please disable all of them and retry the web clipboard function, please?
Thanks,
Patricia -
Hi Patricia, thanks for the quick response. I disabled all extensions and did a restart but no luck. I have not used the new version much and now notice that feeds and other tools also are not working. hmm . I then tried disableing all the plug ins also and that did not help. -
Now that I look at it I realize "My World" is not working either. I did not pay attention to it after the upgrade but casually noticed the info for some reason was not there. I am on a Mac 10.5.8 if that matters. -
Inappropriate?Hello mauryb101,
Would you start Flock at safe mode to see whether the web clipboard and feeds work, please? Did you remember which Flock version that prior the update is?
Thanks,
Patricia -
I did as instructed and this is what I got:
Last login: Tue Oct 27 19:37:12 on console
maurycomputer-3:~ maury$ Run: /Applications/flock.app/Contents/MacOS/flock -safe-mode
-bash: Run:: command not found
maurycomputer-3:~ maury$
now what? Looking in my downloads folder I see June 14 09 I downloaded 2.5 so maybe that was the last version but not sure. -
Should I have shut flock before doing the safe mode thing? I did not. Do not know much about using safe mode so may have done it wrong? -
Patricia, should I just reinstall the old version? Please advise. -
Inappropriate?Mauryb101,
Sorry for the late reply. To run Flock at safe mode, first, please quit Flock. Then
please copy and paste this command-
./Applications/flock.app/Contents/MacOS/flock -safe-mode
and hit Enter.
Please let me know what it goes.
Thanks,
Patricia -

Inappropriate?Hello mauryb101,
Thank you so much for your assistance. Since there is a problem starting Flock at safe mode, I would suggest to backup the Flock profile and install Flock 2.5.5 with the following steps:
1. Go to http://www.flock.com and download Flock 2.5.5
2. Back up the Feeds
a. Open the Feeds sidebar
b. Click "Feed Options"
c. Click "Export feeds"
d. Choose a name and click "Save"
e. Once you've removed your profile, follow the same path and choose "Import" to re-import your feeds.
3. Back up the Favorites
a. Open the Favorites menu
b. Click "Organize Favorites"
c. Open the "Import and Backup" menu
d. Choose "Export HTML"
e. Choose a name and click "Save"
f. Once you've removed your profile, follow the same path and choose "Import" to re-import your favorites.
4. Copy and rename the Flock profile
a. Shut down Flock
b. Go to [your home folder]>Library>Application Support>
c. Make a copy of the folder called "Flock"
d. Rename the copy of "Flock" profile to "Flockbackup"
5. Install Flock 2.5.5
I hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes,

HELP! Patricia, I am having the same problems with the new version.
When I go to people I do not get any of the choices of my services.
When I go to my world, its blank. If I click on widgets nothing happens.
Media Streams does not work.
RSS does not work.
Mail does not work.
Favorites works thankfully.
Accounts and services - blank
Clipboard does not work.
Blog editor does not open.
.....
What should I do? -
Inappropriate?using this info http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi... I some how got some things working mostly. Some of the set up info is missing and so are my rss feeds from the past. How do I get them. What are they called in the file?
I’m feeling a bit better
-
Inappropriate?Hello mauryb101,
Did you back up the feeds as I suggested earlier? If you did, please open the feed sidebar | feed option, choose Import Feeds...
Also, is your favorites missing as well? If this is the case, please import the backed up favorites as my suggestion earlier from the Favorites -> Organize Favorites...
Thanks,
Patricia -
Hi Patricia
On the prior version there were no feeds there to back up since they were missing and the feature did not work anyway when I tried even though there was nothing to back up. What is the name of the file where feeds are usually saved by default. Maybe the old file still exists like the the case of other files I mentioned in my prior post. -
Thanks for you help. I guess we can close the case now.
maury
P.S. I like your little friend. -
Inappropriate?Hello mauryb101,
I just checked with the devs. Unfortunately, the feeds contents are stored at the flock-data.sqlite. Since this sqlite file is corrupted, the feeds can't be recovered.
I'm sorry that I can't help much on this matter.
