Why am I having a hardtime getting SharpReader to be my default rss feed reader with flock 2.5.2?
Im having a problem changing the default rss feed reader in flock 2.5.2 to use a desktop based rss feed reader program such as
FeedDemon or SharpReader. If have searched online with google to find an answer and even tried to manually make SharpReader
which uses the .net framework the default rss feed reader by going to about:config
I created a new user string in this category:
browser.feeds.handler status:default type:string value:ask
browser.feeds.handlers.application status:user set type:string value:C:\program
Files\SharpReader\SharpReader.exe
Of course when the browser.feeds.handler which Im assuming its like a variable had its value set to ask when I tried to
subscribe to a feed the feed sidebar pops up along with the usual page that gives the option to click on the subscribe button
instead of opening up SharpReader instead and perhaps to show me the new subscribed feed that I desired. So I searched online
again to see if alittle bit of debugging would help and found this link:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.fee... which gave me insight, so I changed the value for
browser.feeds.handler to reader
Therefore I tried again to subscribe to a new feed and observed what was happening, SharpReader failed again to open up,
instead alittle dialog box pops up on the screen asking me which folder I want to place the new subscribed or desired feed, so
I clicked on it and basically nothing happened. Im wondering is this a problem because since Im trying to use a program like
SharpReader that depends on the .net framework that its possibly not going to work with flock since maybe flock does not depend
on the .net framework or support it? If thats the case then will flock work with .net framework in the future?

Inappropriate?Hi Frank,
Please try this:
(1) Go to Tools / Options
(2) Click on the Content tab
(3) Click the button labeled "Choose your preferred reader..."
(4) This takes you to the Applications tab with "Web Feed" selected. From there you should be able to choose another application.
Does that work for you?
