Is it possible to have Fluid Gmail open during startup, but have it hidden so a new window doesn't open, that way badge notifications of how many new email are in your inbox is displayed in the dock?
In other words, I'd like to have Fluid Gmail serve as a replacement for Google's Gmail Notifier, that way I can have my notifications in the dock like Apple's Mail application. The Gmail Notifier open during startup and displays the number of unread emails and notifies you when new messages arrive.
When I click a link in Gmail, if makes an empty/unnecessary fluid window for just a split second and then closes it, before opening the link in my default browser (Safari). It seemed like it was going to be fixed in a software update, but I'm up to date, and it hasn't been.
I have a SSB setup for Stafftool.com and I'm trying to figure out how to set it up so mailto links are linked to my gmail account. Currently it launches Mail but I don't use that for email. I'd like it to open up a gmail compose message window instead.
Is there a way to use multiple Google accounts with Fluid?
I have my Gmail account and a Blogger account that uses a different email address. In order to use one, I have to log out of the other. Using separate browsers solved this before Fluid but now I want to use both apps in Fluid simultaneously.
I'm trying to setup different Fluid apps so that I can log into each one using different Google accounts. For example, I want to use Fluid1 for my personal email and Fluid2 for work. However, logging into gmail in Fluid1 causes Fluid2 to log into the same account.
I thought that Fluid keeps separate cookie jars? Is there a way to configure it so that I can stay logged in using different accounts? Thanks.
when i switch the language of gmail to german i dont get a badge on the dock icon with the unread count, but when i switch it to english(us) i get a unread count.
I'm using Fluid for GMail on two computers. On one, everything is fine. On the other, all links, whether they're part of GMail or to an external site, open the link in Safari and in Fluid. Archiving a message opens the inbox in Safari. Same with opening a message. I've tried deleting the app and creating a new one, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
PLEASE add a feature to allow me to change the download location to the desktop. i love running gmail with fluid, but i really want to not disrupt my workflow of saving/opening/deleting from the desktop.
Here's a weird one. My Gmail SSB has "closing the window only hides" option enabled, and works fine usually. If however in the accounts preferences I choose to start hide Gmail on startup it breaks the "closing windows only hides" feature. Every time I open gmail it reloads.
I've been using fluid for gmail for a while now. On a regular basis I have trouble when I view a message with images. If I open the same message in a browser (firefox or safari) the images load instantly, but in fluid they all hang and then turn into the little "no image" icon. Ideas?
The unread dock badge for gmail hasn’t worked for me since 0.9.2.1 (I think). Google Reader works great. I was excited to see that 0.9.2.3 has a dock badge fix, but I still don’t have the dock badge for gmail. Any ideas?
I set up my grandma with Fluid on gmail. Unfortunately, we had to switch back because she likes to print out emails and printing them through Fluid messed up the formatting on the page. The text ran off the end and was partly cut off before wrapping back onto the next line.
Often in fuild apps (gmail especially) I'm seeing text get garbled so that letters overlap each other. This seems to especially be the case in the title of an email when you're viewing the email and H1 tags in general. For instance, if I had an email with the title "Let's get lunch" The "e" and "t" in "Let's" might be on top of each other.
I see this problem also in Google Calendar, and in that app, the names of months are almost always messed up, and the dates in the month view aren't legible.
When loading GMail in Fluid, searches are not working. In addition, when using the Google Labs QuickLink feature, the main page just keeps reloading. In this case the link is the URL performing the same search with the following parameters:
I've just started using my Mac, so I don't know terminology. But I can't set up Gmail in Fluid to show Growl when I get a new message, and I can't get it to show that little red number that should indicate if I have a new message.
I'd really like to see an option that would allow SSBs to display a Growl notification when the badge count changes.
Admittedly, I don't know how many sites badge icons can be enabled for, but hey, at least this would have a benefit for me. I'm currently using a Gmail userscript which parses the window title for the count of new messages. This works when I leave the SSB pointed at the inbox, but often I leave it after viewing my last new email, and Gmail doesn't append the new message count to the title when this occurs. It'd also save people from having to implement userscripts for sites that already support badge icons.
When I use Fluid for Gmail I am experiencing problems with printing - parts of the page get cut off and I cannot configure the printing options so that the full page gets printed.
I am printing on A4. Can anyone help?
When I open a Fluid SSB for GMail, I also get my default browser to open at the same time (Safari or Camino, doesn't matter). So, I close my browser window and click on a label in GMail (or go the inbox) and my browser opens again.
I updated to the latest version of Fluid before doing all of this.
