I have the settings as follows: Closing the last browser window: only hides the window -> yes, and Restore last browsing session on startup with some of my SSBs, yet I still get asked when I close the window if I want to close it.
There shouldn't be a need to ask, in this case, as nothing is really closed, just hidden.
A feature I would love to see in Fluid is the ability to set your own default preferences for newly created SSBs.
I tend to use the same preferences for most of my SSBs and it gets old having to go in and change all the settings every single time I make a new one. If there was a place in the main Fluid app to set what preferences you'd like set to what, on the creation of a new SSB, I think it would help speed everyone's workflow up a bit.
For instance, I always set "Block Popup Windows" and "only Accept Cookies from sites I navigate too," under the Security Preferences.... always. So why should I have to keep on setting, and keep on setting them every time I make a new one, I know that I want all of them to be that way (in fact, I'm kinda curious why these aren't set as a factory default in Fluid anyways, as most people I know always use them... anyways, back to the topic at hand).
So, what do you think? Did all that make sense? Would it be simple enough to give the user control over default preferences? =)
One thing I do not like about Fluid SSB's is the preferences window. It seems like it is trying to be like System Preferences, but is not quite managing it. I find it confusing every time I try to do something. This might be because I am using a web browser so I expect the window to be like the Safari preferences window. I think that the style that is there now only works if there are a lot of options (like System Preferences). I think that having the icons for each tab on the top bar would be much easier to use.
1) I'd like to see an option/preference that can auto-size a window to match iPhone screen resolution (since it appears that a number of people are using Fluid with iPhone versions of webapps).
2) I'd like to be able to lock a window size once I've gotten it *just right* so that I don't accidentally resize it.
When I create new SSB's I use a variety of preferences for letting them browse out to different URLs, from really quite restrictive, to cruising around the top level of the site (so *getsatisfaction.com/* for example, so I can log in via the SSB too), to go anywhere (for example in gReader so I can read the links I want to in more detail.
Currently I have to create the SSB and then change the preferences. I appreciate for fussy ones that's always going to be the case, but would it be possible to have at least these three options in a drop down so we can choose between fully restricted, restricted to top level, not at all restricted at the time we create it, with the right to change that in preferences later as we currently have.
