Fluid apps open new windows in "default" browser rather than the SSB
There are two sites that I use regularly that don't want to play nicely with Fluid. Both of them require signing-in, and both seem to issue some variety of HTTP redirect after authentication. When the Fluid-app gets the redirect, it chooses to open it in a new window for some reason. Since my default browser is Firefox, that ends up opening the page in FF instead of the SSB itself.
I've also noticed something similar when using a SSB configured for Google Reader-- when I click on an article title to jump to the original URL, it "launches" it as though I had clicked a shortcut from the desktop. It ends up in a FF window (or in my case, a new tab in an existing window).

Inappropriate?Excellent, that did it! I didn't know about that feature, but I've been learning about a lot of features I didn't know about, since finding the "community" section on the Fluid site. Thanks!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I have the converse issue. In GMail (for Domains, admittedly), any link in an email, will launch a blank new tab or window of the SSB *and then* Firefox too.
There's 'target="_blank"' on the link, and obviously it's to a domain not on my white list.
But how can I stop the blank new SSB window? And just launch Firefox directly from the link (and without using the context menu).
Any ideas?
Thanks
I’m surprised

James,
I have exactly the same problem. It is annoying to have to close all the empty windows/tabs... I have found no workaround, and hav tried numerous combinations of mucking with the preferences. Perhaps this should be a new topic?
