Javascript popup on Fluid quit causes endless loop
When quitting a Fluid SSB and a javascript dialog pops up, there is an error. At first the popup is not seen, and then OK and Cancel have no effect. I have to force-quit Fluid.
More specifically, I am using MonkeyGTD as a local file:///Users/foo/gtd.html. Create a new tiddler. Don't save. Quit. In a browser, Javascript says "unsaved changes, click OK to quit anyway or cancel". In Fluid, this popup isn't seen at first, and then OK and Cancel have no effect, the dialog does not go away.

Inappropriate?hi mankoff, to look into this, i'll need a link.
-
Inappropriate?1) Point Fluid to: http://monkeygtd.tiddlyspot.com/demo3...
2) Launch app
3) Click "+" (anywhere in MonkeyGTD)
4) Type anything
5) Click "OK"
6) Do NOT hit "save changes"
7) Quit (CMD+Q)
8) dialog comes up but is not visible
9) Alt tab away and back to Fluid.
10) Dialog is now visibl
11) Click (OK) or (Cancel).
12) Nothing happens!
13) Force Quit -
Inappropriate?now *that's* how u write a bug report! :0] I'm in awe that you thought i could figure that interaction out on my own!
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate? How's this for a bug report:
1) Put this in foo.html on your desktop (note, HTML code below gets munged. I inserted the "\" 2x before the "body" so it shows up)
<html>
<\body onunload="alert('foo');">
<\/body>
</html>
2) Create Fluid app at that
3) Try to quit Fluid app.
I’m amused
-
and for the record, yes, that is a much better bug report... see? if you had submitted this in the first place we could have saved all that time... ;0] -
Inappropriate?sry, the email sent by getsatisfaction did not include the javascript onunload handler, so i didn't see it. yes, i see that handler does not work.
no idea why webkit doesn't support that out of the box. not sure if this is a webkit bug or a fluid bug. I'll put it on the todo list, but i'll be candid, it's not a top priority. -
Inappropriate?OK :(. Not sure of the difference between WebKit and Safari, but Safari does not exhibit this bug.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?right. it's not a bug in safari.. its either in webkit or fluid.
-
Inappropriate?Webkit latest nightly does not exhibit this bug.
-
Inappropriate?that doesn't prove anything unfortunately. The "webkit nightly" is poorly named... Its actually safari, not webkit.
Either way I will not be tackling this bug soon anyway... There are more important issues and features. -
Inappropriate?Hi Todd,
Just an FYI, I know you said you wouldn't work on this bug but the latest Fluid (0.9.2.2) has modified this bug. OnUnload alerts are now simply ignored. -
