Better timelines

I am struggling with the timelines. It is very clumsy to have to switch back and forth to get the timing right. Any way to link or group the items. For example this object should appear 1 second after this object appears. That way if I change when object 1 appears all the following object also change. This makes sense to me as over time things tend to happen in order :-)
